Jamie West is the @OntarioNDP MPP for Sudbury.

Because of the voices of thousands of Northeners we are one step closer to our goal of completing the 4-laning of Highway 69. This is a welcome step in the right direction, but please continue to speak up. An announcement is not a completion date, a promise is not pavement.

I've been thinking a lot about how my Wounded Warriors Ride for Mental Health was an analogy for mental health. Not many people are prepared for a MH crisis, and when they're happening, even easy tasks can be difficult. If you'd like to learn more, scan the QR code at the end of the video.

Reminder that Aug 20th is the deadline for bus registration or change requests to be processed in time for the start of school! Please go to businfo.ca to check you child's route or request a change. If you have any questions call the summer student call centre: 705-521-1234.

As the province orders a second Cease of Admissions Order at Extendicare Countryside LTC, we are thinking of the residents and their families with heavy hearts. We know that when profit is put before people, the care diminishes.

The Hot Days, Cool Homes Act helps protect tenants from extreme heat and ensures their homes are livable in warmer months. We set temperatures thresholds to keep homes warm in the winter. We need the same to keep tenants safe in the summer too. Sign the petition if you agree!

As families chose Sudbury as their home over the years, our City has benefited. I'm proud to be from a community that cares, where we look out for our neighbours, and take time to celebrate the amazing contributions each of us make to this City. Our diversity is our strength!

We have written to the Minister of Transportation to seek clarity about the engineering, consultations, and approvals they claim are taking place. After eight years, we believe that the people of Northern Ontario deserve more than the bare bones information that continues to be provided.

It's Camp Day! Pick up a camp day donut or grab a hot or iced coffee and help support kids going to camp ☕️ 🍩 Camp is an amazing summer adventure, but it is also the place where so many kids make memories, lifelong friends, and build confidence and new skills.

This past weekend I attended the Northern Lights Festival Boréal. Every year since I was a little kid in the 70s, my mom has volunteered at the festival and brought me along, and has continued being a special event we get to share together.

Four Lanes- Zero Excuses. The people of Northern Ontario are fed up. They are done waiting. They are tired of excuses from the provincial Government. We are going to continue to highlight community voices demanding the Premier take action.

Family lunch? Saturday night date night? Check out an amazing new ramen place right here in our downtown! Ramen Misoya recently celebrated their grand opening. Not only is the food handmade, but their miso is supplied from Japan! If you are looking for some delicious food, this is a must-try!

For 50+ yrs, the Eye Van has been bringing essential ophthalmology supports to remote and underserviced communities across the North. This is made possible thanks to Manitoulin Transport, who has been supporting with equipment, driver training, mechanical emergencies, and more!

It's HOT today! Heatwaves are increasing, yet our schools and buses aren't equipped to handle it. That's why we have brought forward a Bill "Fighting Extreme Heat in Schools Act" to set maximum temperature standards, fix infrastructure gaps, and protect our students and education workers

Groceries cost a fortune and Doug Ford isn't doing anything about it. That's why we've brought forward a plan to take the tax off food AND close the loopholes big chains use to keep prices high. Manitoba, under Wab Kinew, has already done this. Ontario can too. Add your name at NoTaxOnFood.ca

Yesterday, MPP France Gélinas and I hand-delivered this letter to the Minister of Transportation, the Hon. Prabmeet Sakaria urging him to make the 4-laning of HWY 69 a priority. Sign my petition or reach out to my office to share how you've been affected by the Ford government inaction on HWY 69.

Privilege to meet with TCEU Local 416 during their Advocacy Day to hear about the supports they need from the Government. They represent nearly 8,000 workers across Toronto's essential municipal services, emergency response, and community intervention programs. Thank you for all that you do!

Students are standing up to Doug Ford and his gutting of OSAP grants. Young people cannot afford more Conservative cuts to education and an endless cycle of student debt when the cost of living is already unberable. Together we are gong to continue to fight to save OSAP ✊️
