New data on the efficacy of the Australia social media ban are worse than I thought. A new study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) reports that over 85% of teens under 16 are still using social media. The 'friction' introduced by the ban seems very minimal. www.bmj.com/content/393/...

Did you know that from tomorrow, Qualtrics is offering synthetic panels (AI-generated participants)? Follow me down a rabbit hole I'm calling "doing science is tough and I'm so busy, can't we just make up participants?"
Paywalled, but the gist is that teenagers (and younger children) using VR more and more - driven by black Friday sales, headsets seen as a good Christmas gift, and lots of social free-to-play apps like Gorilla Tag, UG, VRchat www.theverge.com/column/84235...
Relax, grown-ups: VR is doing fine

Really pleased that this paper from my PhD has been published in Nature Scientific Reports! www.nature.com/articles/s41... We used mixed reality to explore how manipulating multisensory integration leads to dis-ownership from the body and how those experiences relate to trait dissociation
Trait dissociation is associated with dissociative experiences arising from disrupted multisensory integration - Scientific Reports
