OK I've read deeper into Dreher Campaign Stealing Signs-Gate and I'm even more disappointed. What a stupid, stupid thing to do. First up, does anyone believe that Dreher's campaign staff didn't steal these signs? Hundreds of them? Allegedly on film and reported to the police and PDC?

Hannah Krieg@hannahkrieg.bsky.social · 2d ago

NEW: State House candidate Ron Davis is accusing Will Dreher's campaign of stealing yard signs as they believe to have captured on video. Dreher says that's not his staff in the video and says Davis's signs amount to removable litter anyway! www.theburnerseattle.com/post/state-h...

Vote today, Seattle. The race I'm watching most closely is @ronpdavis.bsky.social in the 46th LD. Vote for Ron Davis, please. This was going to be progressive Davis vs. establishment Pollet, which was already important, but it got more crucial with the surprise entry of the opportunist Dreher.

83% of Will Dreher's campaign money is from out of state, much of it from employees of OpenAI & Anthropic, & he has a grand total of *20 donors* in his district. Totally normal, not at all sus, I'm sure it's fine. But you might wanna go ahead and choose @ronpdavis.bsky.social for the 46th LD anyways

WILL DREHER: My opponent is running a nasty smear campaign
SOME GUY: Wow, what’s he saying?
DREHER: That I signed a letter endorsing Brett Kavanaugh's nomination, and that I'm bankrolled by AI money
GUY: ...and? Is it true?
DREHER: Well now see but you have to understand the context
GUY: Hm

First, this is a thread worth reading, and I agree. Second, I want to point out that Dreher’s supposed strength, “AI regulation,” is really Ron Davis’s. If you want a lawyer-technologist who advocates for the humans, Ron has the superior academic, professional, and political qualifications.

If Dreher were some amazing candidate running on a platform nobody else was, or running in a purple seat against MAGA, *maybe* it's a different conversation. But he's running against proven progressive champion Ron Davis. We don't need Dreher. He should go away -- and we should vote for Ron. /end

The WA disclosures are out for May, and in the 46th, housing champion & progressive challenger @ronpdavis.bsky.social is outraising both his opponents by more than 2x among Seattle residents! The NIMBY incumbent is far behind, and another challenger is funded overwhelmingly by out of state dollars.

Ron Davis: Seattle $84032, non-Seattle $10800, non-WA $10525
Gerry Pollet: Seattle $33892, non-Seattle $22278, non-WA $9175
Will Dreher: Seattle $29450, non-Seattle $5280, non-WA $197078

Will Dreher is outraising Ron Davis about 3:1 overall in the 46th LD primary. But Ron is outraising Will about 2:1 among Washington State donors. So where's the rest of Will's money coming from? Thread.

Bar chart showing WA, CA, and OTHER STATE portions of Will Dreher's and Ron Davis's fundraising as of June 2026. Data shows that the majority of Will Dreher's fundraising comes from out of state, and that the vast majority of Ron Davis's funding comes from within state. Total fundraising favors Dreher 3:1. Washington-only fundraising favors Davis 2:1.

I’ve converted from “maybe I could like Will Dreher personally but I support Ron Davis for office,” to “Will is too careless for his bar card, let alone elected office.” So now I’m mad. What is Will even doing with all this Anthropic and Jones Day money if not paying folks to do accurate research?

I've got to ask, Will: have you(r campaign) been using too much AI? Did your AI oppo research queries confuse the Seattle @ronpdavis.bsky.social with this unrelated Ron Davis in Texas, and your campaign just ran with the false accusations of "AI evangelist" without checking?

not the Seattle Ron Davis, but an unrelated person in Texas

The only thing dumber than Musk's proposed $1T package is the punditry calling it a good deal because it's "all or nothing." Under such a structure, the (perverse) incentive is to fail and avoid the $1T hit, and the recipient earns no benefit for overperformance and no comp for getting close.

The spread on Seattle City Atty is telling. Erika is over 50% in a four way primary as one of three progressive challengers. She is going to pick up Nathan and Rory's voters and wreck Ann by 20+ points.

At a press conference at City Hall this morning, the Working Families Party and PROTEC17—the largest union of City of Seattle workers—endorsed Katie Wilson for mayor. The city union's endorsement is especially monumental because for most of these workers, incumbent Bruce Harrell is their boss.

Practitioners in states that elect judges: this means you, too. You know who knows the law better than public defenders, who cares more about constitutional safeguards and fundamental rights, and better gets real people? Absolutely nobody. Millenial PD's, RUN FOR JUDGE.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Taking a break from political doomscrolling to watch news on Amazon's RTO. Apparently the tsunami of returners has overwhelmed the parking garages, limited desk space and men's bathrooms.

I have now seen the Ann Telnaes cartoon of Jeff Bezos's supplication before Donald Trump more often today than I've seen any other cartoon during the entire rest of the year. So, well played, Washington Post.

Every Democrat from Maine to Hawaii tried to explain to their Republican relatives that Trump and his circle actually held them in contempt for years. It's not even January and his new advisors / owners just... tweeted out that they think Americans are too dumb and lazy for the "good" jobs.
