Today is the first day of the little poetry challenge I’ve set myself. It’s a bit awkward sharing my poor efforts but hopefully things will improve day by day. Do join me. The theme for today is “fellowship” #tolkien

From the day we met
every moment has been full of
light and the dark corners of my
life have been
overthrown and drowned.
We met by
strange chances and
happened upon a world
in which united hearts find
promise of a fairer world.Tolkien Daily Poetry Challenge

My mother’s teenage bedroom was in the basement of her house, which is important because she gave me her old copies of The Lord of the Rings and one night when I was a kiddo I was lying in bed reading and

After shoveling loads of snow from the driveway yesterday I was able descend into town to get to the office, and there’s barely enough snow down here to chill a hobbit’s toes!

What if Míriel approved of Indis and supported Finwë marrying her because she loved Finwë and understood and supported his desire for a large family, and this was part of why she was so determined not to leave the Halls of Mandos? #tolkien #luinellë 1/2

I decided a few months ago to try to be more sociable. Intense social anxiety makes many things challenging for me, but talking to nice people online is helping. I joined an in person book club! Yay! It’s a small accomplishment but I am proud of myself.

Times being what they are, I might as well share this. If you or someone you know is looking for a potential lifeboat, my little blue city in WA is desperate for 911 dispatchers. It’s a difficult job to fill. Reach out to me if you’d like more info.

Random dudes IRL, I’m willing to give directions, but don’t ask me where I live, don’t tell me your plans for where you want to live, no, I don’t hope to see you around again. Jfc. How much of this is cluelessness and how much is creepiness?
