RefUK, RW media, & Eurofash are plainly trying to whip up a panic about this. Any serious report must begin by explaining that Ceuta is in Africa - not mainland Spain - and 48k+ of the 50k crossers were already returned. It is frightening how many still don't know this. Please share on all socials.
The funniest - and least discussed - aspect of this is that Farage, having reportedly told RefUK he'd only lead them if compensated for the £1m a year income he had outside politics, pocketed their five million, then kept earning from outside interests at the same rate anyway. He scammed even them.
Important, because Farage's defence for not declaring Harborne's £5m 'gift' has always been very specific: he did not decide to stand until 3rd of June. Turns out this deal was struck mid-May (confirmed by RefUK) and facilitated by Farage's other big donor, convicted felon 'Posh' George Cotrell. 🧐
Loved the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb. In a world of artifice, AI slop and inauthentic bs, this was "real"
Cool. Andy Burnham DID mention immigration...to make the long overdue point that we should be valuing our immigrants
Trump: “Andy Burnham will have to mention immigration because it's killing the UK.”
When I discuss huge systemic issues, people say "but what I can I do?" When I mention something meaningful you can do immediately, people say (as the replies here show) "but what's the point, in the face of the huge systemic issues?" There are, it seems, plenty of people who want to be helpless.
It's a point I've been trying to make for a long time: there is no good way to meet even 10% of current demand for animal products. They trash the living world, whichever way you do it. If you want to reduce your impact, switch to a plant-based diet. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I join you from the Blaenavon wildfire in Southeast Wales, brought to you by BP, Shell and Equinor. Though it does not look dramatic, the fire has been out of control for days - for a very particular reason. 🧵
“When the manifesto was written there was no war in the Middle East and the true state of the economy was unknown. We need to do what is right for our nation. That means we cannot retain the well-intentioned pledge not to increase taxes. But we will do so to make life better for ordinary people.”
This beauty l, lurking in the parched grass, scared the living daylights out of Martha in the week. She jumped three feet in the air 😆

I'm on the lookout for podcast recommendations. Am open-minded but no politics, please. Already got some of those.
Found Martha in a cool spot that she found in the garden. She does not enjoy this hot weather at all 🥵
