We have been exploring SF through the eyes of older adults from the Lakeview OMI district, using photovoice and an anti-racist lens. See what we learned at the 19th Annual UCSF Health Equity and Anti-Racism Research Symposium on Oct. 14. Register here: lnkd.in/gC-apbwS
Always fun to be out in the community! Stopped by the Mid-Autumn Festival, where the Community Living Campaign & Alzheimer's Association Northern California Chapter were raising awareness about emergency preparedness and brain health 💙♥️🧠💜
Saw Equal Justice Initiative’s The Legacy of Slavery exhibit. It traced a line from the transatlantic slave trade to mass incarceration today. The takeaway: how mundane & systemic the machinery of slavery was, and how directly that legacy shapes the world we live in today.
Join me and the Community Living Campaign (CLC) as we celebrate Shireen McSpadden for her leadership & advocacy on behalf of San Francisco's unhoused residents, older adults, and people with disabilities. 📅 Thurs, Oct. 1 | 5:30–7:30 pm 📍 UC Law Sky Deck 👉 RSVP or sponsor: lnkd.in/gePs-HjA

I call the IAGG conference the “Olympics of aging conferences” because it only happens every four years. What an exhilarating week. Leaving inspired and already looking forward to Sydney, 2030!
✨Wrapping up an amazing week with MUARG and the BSG. Despite the heat, being with scholars doing brilliant critical gerontological work was exactly the fresh air I needed. Loved meeting new researchers and catching up with colleagues who inspire me every time I read their work or hear them speak.
🥰What an unforgettable day. We gathered to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the UCSF Institute for Health & Aging, founded by the remarkable Dr. Carroll L. Estes, reflecting on the past, present, and future of a legacy that has shaped science, advocacy, and social justice in profound ways.
🥳Honored to celebrate TNDC’s 45th anniversary of keeping people housed, dignified, and aging in place in the Tenderloin and throughout San Francisco. Housing is more than four walls. It’s stability 🌇✨
Feeling grateful and energized after our annual C-CARERS Stakeholder Task Force Meeting. We celebrated milestones and set goals for the next phase of work, centering caregiver voices and lived experiences to shape Alzheimer’s research, supports, and services. 🧠💜
