People of America, the literary event of the century is happening this Thursday! Please join me and @sachajudd.com as we discuss fandoms, donuts, families, why no one can get a job, and the importance of washing dishes. It’s a good hang! Somehow this is all free. www.eventbrite.com/e/1990820294...

Been reading “On The Road” for the first time in ages and while Kerouac can turn a phrase, Dean Moriarty is the most intolerable AuDHD motherfucker in the world and I might actually hate him.

People who’ve been laid off aren’t victims of a natural disaster. Their story has a villain. They don’t need your pity, they need your help plotting revenge.

Stephen King's Lee Cronin's Nora Roberts' Peter Molyneux's Tyler Perry's Todd McFarlane's V.C. Andrews' Frank Miller's Tom Clancy's Wes Craven's Ryan Murphy's Alan Moore's Diablo Cody's John Carpenter's Anne Rice's Garth Ennis' Dario Argento's Ruth's Chris Steak House

I put this up years ago as a reminder to make shit when I’m unhappy with the state of things instead of spending all day complaining online. It doesn’t always work. A lot of my favorite projects have started with me saying “well this fucking sucks” tho.

A photo of a poster taped up with gaffer's tape, showing James Murphy singing into a microphone. The text above James reads "THE BEST WAY TO COMPLAIN IS TO MAKE THINGS."

A neobank I used to use had this great feature: open their app while you're taking a phone call and an undismissible banner would take over the upper third. "We're not calling you. If someone says they're from [neobank], hang up." Honestly, every other bank should copy it.

A "recruiter" reached out about a dev advocate role at Automattic. Their (clearly) AI written response listed comp at $750,000 to $900,000+. Sure. Absolutely. Very real email, I'm sure.

Once again; if you are telling us we need to fight fascism, and you are telling us this on Substack, you are literally telling us to do something you’re not willing to do yourself. Spine the fuck up.

I shared that I was thinking about killing the Latin option on Hipsum yesterday and someone from a single IP in the UK (176.25.80.54) sent almost 3000 requests.

Jason Schwartzman as Max Fischer in "Rushmore".

Shout out to LinkedIn for sending me a job posting for the same position (that has never actually been accepting applications) every single day this past week. 🙃

Anyone interested in trying a version of #KillYrSubstack that allows you to change the archiver from `archive.is` to Ghost Archive? I'll probably have something ready to test either tonight or tomorrow morning. HMU if you're down!
