Tigers bench coach George Lombard is away from the team and in NY for his son's MLB debut. George Sr. will rejoin the Tigers in Seattle on Wednesday.

Drew Anderson will jump into rotation and start for Tigers on Wednesday. Jackson Jobe has joined the club in Seattle but won’t be active until the weekend in San Francisco. He could line up to start when Tigers need a fifth starter Saturday.

Among the interesting post-trade deadline minor-league moves: Tigers promoted knuckleballer Kenny Serwa to Triple-A Toledo. Get past the middling season numbers, and Serwa had a 2.87 ERA over his last 10 starts with Erie, would’ve been lower if not for one disastrous outing.
