The most unbelievable thing about the #iPhoneDuo? That anyone would put it directly on concrete without a case. 🤣 (screenshot from Apple's launch video)

The USA imports more oil from 🇨🇦 Canada than any other country in the world; 60%–63% of total U.S. crude oil imports, much of that heavy crude turned into gasoline. What do you think will happen to US gas prices if DJT continues to wage economic war on Canada? #gasprices
I have video evidence that #Amazon has skipped right over drones in my area and gone straight to delivery via teleportation! 😂 (the delivery guy managed to stick his arm around the corner and not trigger the Ring camera person-detection scan, which is impressively efficient!)
Is there anyone else a bit confused/frustrated by the new M-series chip selection? 😵💫 The whole M6 plain/M5 Max is a bit baffling. I've found myself trapped in the swirl of configuration selections, unsure of what the right combo of too-expensive chip and upgrade selections. #Apple
Does it seem to anyone else like @paramountplus.com turned off half of their CDN servers recently? The app is so slow, shows take 3-5x longer to start, and I'm seeing 3-4 buffering delays during an hour-long show.
If you haven't traveled in the past couple of years, you might not realize how quickly the landscape of vehicles is changing: China-made EVs are being sold almost everywhere now. I saw a lot of BYD vehicles in India, Thailand, Singapore, and Jakarta. #EVs #cars www.axios.com/newsletters/...
I feel a deep pang of regret every time I have to activate Starlink, as giving Musk any more of my money is a repulsive thought, but I swear that the local @comcastbusiness.bsky.social network is made of tissue paper and popsicle sticks! 😡
I have given far too much of my income to @displate.com 🤣 but I absolutely love their products, and it makes decorating my home a pure delight. I finished the last of the major wall projects recently and wrote up a blog post about it: www.jasondunn.com/big-wall-pro...

The upcoming M5 Mac mini can't come soon enough: it took my M1 Mac mini just over two days ⁉️ to transcode a ripped MKV of Project Hail Mary in 4K. 😭 #MacMini #Handbrake #PLEX
I'm happy with how my M5 #MacBookAir looks in this swanky skin from @dbrand! Coming from an M1 MacBook Pro, I can't believe how thin and light the Air feels in comparison. Yes, I was willing to re-embrace the #DongleLife in order to have something this size.
Anyone who thinks it's okay to use #Grok should read this article (gift link): wapo.st/4gejQDI Supporting the use of this disgusting AI tool is immoral.

A Wyoming woman alleges in a federal lawsuit that her stepfather used the Grok chatbot to transform a childhood photo into child sexual abuse material.

OK, back-peddle from me: I'm considering the Pixel 11 more seriously now given the surprisingly generous $330 trade in credit for my old Pixel 7 (that my son uses; he'd get my Pixel 9 Pro). There's a new camera sensor and a few more upgrades than I realized, so now I'm thinking about it... #Pixel11
I know that we are in an era of no real big leaps in phones for the most part, but I can't imagine the Pixel 11 being a more underwhelming device compared to my Pixel 9 Pro. I waited two years for this? 🫤 #Pixel11series

You've got to love it when AI image creation tools have no idea how big a GLP-1 needle should be, so it makes it the size for a horse dose. 🤣
When #BendingSpoons acquired #Evernote, they accelerated the software development improvement cycle and made it better — it's a superior product today than years ago. But the 171% price increase in a year finally made me jump to #Obsidian; it's just not worth the price they want to charge for it.
I find this deeply disturbing. Gambling is a cancer on society. "Americans spent $166 billion on sports betting in 2025, which is more than the revenue generated by the American movie, music, book and museum industries combined..." fortune.com/2026/07/26/g...
Gambling becomes America's favorite pastime as Americans spend more on sports bets than movies, arts, museums, and music combined | Fortune
Americans wagered $166 billion on sports last year, more than Hollywood, the music industry, books, and museums combined.

I often wonder how brand name medications continue to survive alongside #generics that use exactly the same ingredients in the same amounts. Why would anyone spend 25%+ more? Positive brand association and "it always worked before so I'll buy it again"? Ignorance? 🤔

Music services need to take AI music seriously and offer customers the ability to filter out and block AI slop. There's a lot I like about generative AI, but I want to listen to humans making music, not software. #YouTubeMusic offers no way for me to block AI artists, or even down-vote songs. 🫤
If you're ever feeling a little bit down, just order something from an unknown Chinese brand off of Amazon. It will come with an uplifting inspirational brand tagline. And 58% of the time, it may even make some grammatical sense. What are some of the funniest/best you've seen? #inspiration
It's bizarre to me that most macOS developers still bundle x86 (Intel) versions of their software; they take up a lot of storage space for no good reason. Is this a default for Xcode, to bundle both? Or some kind of outdated best practice? Seems unnecessary to me in 2026. #macdeveloper #macos
I'm still in shock about the @apple price hikes. @daringfireball has a good summary of them here: daringfireball.net/2026/06/spen... The Apple TV price jumps are particularly egregious. #ApplePriceHikes
It's unfortunate that, even with the latest version of macOS, I still see kernel panics and hard crashes every month or so. It's always the same cause: external USB-connected bluray optical drives. I know I'm in the minority in using them, but why can't macOS handle them any more? 🤔 #macOS26
