I’ve been feeling, anxious, depressed, and generally sad the past few weeks. It’s been a funk that not only I can’t get past but when ever I start to weather it something hits me. Therapy has helped a bit, but not quite enough. Thank god there’s new Ted Lasso coming.

Had a great time at Montreal ComicCon. Talal did a trio of drawings at the table, but didn’t get any asks for commissions. I got a Kelly Tindall sketch for my bestie. I saw Chewie, I went to the after party, I yelled at people about imposter syndrome. And I met a bunch of you which is always awesome.

Having art come in always feels fantastic, but seeing the pages in full always gets me. It stuns me that this is Talal's first comic so he's only going to get better as he goes along. The Family is a combo of his and mine, the process helps that his 10 year old and my 10 year old are best friends.

I’m gonna second this and say: it’s better than Dune (because it doesn’t get the weird and deranged parts that dune later had. Also “Dune with muppets” is Star Wars.

If you're a Hugo voter—or even if you're not—I strongly encourage you to go check out DRIVE by @davekellett.bsky.social. It's a long-form webcomic that basically asks "what if you had an epic Dune-style space opera, but with Muppets?" and it's absolute gold: www.drivecomic.com/acts/act-1/

With the out of control prices for concert tickets I don’t know if my son is ever going to get to see his favourite bands. I saw Pantera and Pink Floyd got a grand total of 65$ combined when I was 18. These days it’d cost closer to 750-1300$ for similar shows with the same seats.
