It took a trip to Knepp to finally get a Purple Emperor this year, but was looking a bit sorry for itself. Also a Purple Hairstreak deciding it wasn’t going to move from its stick and White-legged Damselfly.
Chalk hill Blue and Wall out in numbers at Windover Hill, East Sussex whilst looking for Grayling but no luck.
Went out to tick a few things for this year last Saturday 04/07/2026. Managed to get a Honey Buzzard in East Kent. Finally went to for the Caspian Tern at Dungeness, also Tawny Long-horned Beetle and a Brown-banded Carder Bee. With @nigej.bsky.social
Good day out at Daneway Banks, Gloucestershire last weekend with @nigej.bsky.social . Managed to finally get Large Blue after a tricky morning, as well as a nice Downland Villa. Other butterflies out in full force!
