Australian Reserve Bank: Things are more expensive… Their solution: so… Let’s make things more expensive. Around it goes. Is it time they anchored policy that considered the source of inflation and the macro environment? It just feels like the wrong tool for the job being used again and again.
I’d like to see Lygon St in Brunswick be transformed like this. Local traffic and banish the car sewers.

I listened to an interview on with a Nationals politician the other day. He described the key issue driving rural anger and support for One Nation (and driving the rightward wedge) was that we’ve become too concerned with offending people (too woke essentially).

This is the best speech, just from a pure rhetoric perspective - its sophistication and persuasiveness - that I've seen a politician deliver in a good long while. Really recommend watching or reading the whole thing.

The media and political environment in Australia has been disgraceful this week.
The new #Myki readers being rolled out to trams in #Melbourne seem like a huge improvement. But often mounted way too low to view the screen. I and several others had to stoop to see the display. There is a lip above the screen that hampers viewing.
