Ring the bells that still can ring Forget your perfect offering There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in

Awful. Just awful. A promising young man, a high school honors grad who joined JROTC and dreamed of becoming a doctor, killed himself because of the Trump admin’s obsession with hurting Haitians and the humiliating shame of an ICE ankle monitor. His blood is on their hands.

A picture of a young black man, dressed in a light blue suit with a smart black bow tie, smiling as he is handed a diploma from a school official, a white man in his 40s-50s who is also smiling. Underneath is the caption “Pierre Damas Bel receives his high school diploma. (Family Photo/Instagram)”Bel arrived in the United States in 2024 in order to reunite with his parents, who had fled Haiti three years before. The family was granted temporary protected status, purchased a home in Springfield and settled into life in the U.S. Bel dreamed of studying medicine and graduated high school last May with honors and as a proud member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), his father said. He was the eldest of three siblings and his family described him as smart and responsible.

“A Haitian immigrant who had grown increasingly distraught after losing his protection from deportation and being outfitted with an ankle monitor was run over and killed Monday in what his family believes was a suicide.” www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

I'll never understand why Cambridge and Somerville aren't all in the same districts for State Senator and State Rep. My Senator represents both Cambridge and Everett, which is an insane juxtaposition.

Same brother. "The plan today was to write a column about why "Semi-Charmed Life" sucks. For most of my life, I have held the position that "Semi-Charmed Life" is ass. That was how I felt in summer 1997, when I was simply not able to escape from the song." stereogum.com/2505910/the-...

The creators of my senior HS year video yearbook put this song on a montage of video of our class from our first day of freshman year. They also allowed I Get (high) With a Little Help From my Friends to be our class song. Boomer administrators don't listen to lyrics stereogum.com/2504353/the-...

Listening to Magnetic Fields song Born on a Train (a song about a Vampire) while entering client demographic info and just did a typo stating that someone is 389 years old and that's a fun coincidence.

I don't think it should be controversial to say, "we will not provide financial or military assistance to a country where the Minister of National Security brags about popping people's dreams of 'food' and 'education' then sending them to a prison where they are starved."

Ben Gvir posted this video on twitter today which shows fat and happy Palestinians on a conveyer built going through the Israeli "prison" (torture camp) system and coming out emaciated and maudlin. This is textbook genocidal content.

It appears that my previous boss who was super unprofessional and resentful that I took a different position in the agency 19 months ago has gotten over it. She's being really kind and normal in our emails now. Maybe someday we'll have a normal conversation again at a work thing!

I go to a grocery store in a shopping plaza whose parking lot is never full. I park near the back. I also used to work at Whole Foods. This is why I never return my shopping cart. At a grocery store, being sent on a cart run is gold. You get to be outside by yourself. My cart doesn’t affect parking.
