two rectangles composed of more rectangles of varying shapes intersect. the leftmost one is in red ink, and the rightmost one is in blue ink. the red one has a rectangular protrusion on its right, and the blue one has a rectangular cavity on its left. the protrusion of the red overlaps into the back of the cavity of the blue rectangle. above the protrusion-cavity, there are more intersections, but among the normal rectangular border. looking just at the intersection (which is a dark purple due to ink overlaying,) it has a staggered shape that goes left-right-left.
