The Germans came back today, to have another crack at taking the objective from Uncle Sams boys. Instead of putting all their eggs in one basket by taking a Brummbar, they instead took a Pz 3 and a Luchs, wise choice this time around 👍

Painter of figures, occasional wargamer and a little bit sweary
So while I had the paints out for my ancients I thought I'd paint up a free sprue I had from WI of Warlord epic Carthaginians. Just wanted to see what I could achieve with them, they don't fit in with any other collection I have but I just followed the brushes.
Painted up some level 2 and 3 heroes for my Spartan and Macedonian armies for Midgard. 18mm Xyston figures that I've had for about 20 years lol.
Played Chain of Command today, and the Germans brought a Brummbar 😳 Its a beast!
Been busy painting a new German platoon for CoC, a mixture of plastics, metals and resin, from various manufacturers including Empress, Warlord, Perry's, Victrix and some 3d prints. Still too much cammo for my liking but what ya gonna do 🤷
I'm sunning myself on the beautiful island of Ibiza, so not much hobby related stuff going on. I have more time on my phone to enjoy the lovely work you're all posting. I made the mistake of wandering outside our little corner of sm and I really wish I hadn't. What an absolute shitshow it is 😂
Suitably inspired by this week's game, I painted an extra squad for my 15mm US platoon. Flames of War figures based individually for Chain of Command. I put some flowers on the base of the JL and BAR, so that my eye is drawn to them easily during play. #spreadthelard
Today's game was scenario 1, Probe at Le Cambe. 29 Lets Go! Using Chain of Command 2. Had to make a few adjustments to bring the scenario up to date, but nothing drastic. #spreadthelard
As well as painting my 28mm Brits this week Ive also been painting an extra section and Senior Leader for my 15mm Heer platoon.
The Bren team and Junior Leader are now painted completing my first section 😀
My new British platoon for Normandy begins. Other than Warlord I never realised how difficult it is to get figures for the late war British. RKX 3d prints, i love these sculpts but im not sure they're going to be robust enough for gaming, there's a snapped bayonet already on this team.
Ive had my British and German platoons for the best part of 15 years, so Ive decided to start to replace them with more modern sculpts. A couple of photos of some spare figures I've had knocking around for ages. Empress Senior Leaders, Artizan Panzershreck and a Perry 50mm mortar.
Not much going on as far as gaming is concerned at the mo, so Ive been painting 15mm Brits for Martlet and the Scottish corridor. They'll also come in handy as opposition for my Panzer Lehr forces. 4 sections (as you always need an extra section) #spreadthelard #chainofcommand2
Bank Holiday yesterday, so a chance for a game against my grandson. Lion Rampant rules and my old collection of Vikings and Saxons. He won, again 🙄😂
Rerun the flank attack on St Germain du Pert with the CoC2 rules. Took some photos of the game, various 15mm manufacturers and a lovely Cigar Box battlemat. The US attackers had 18pts of support, the Germans 12pts.
Good game the other day, @geofftbond.bsky.social 's US troops attempting a flanking attack on St Germain du Pert. Its a scenario from the 29 Lets Go PSC from TFL that I adapted to be more in line with CoC2, and to play as a one off game. Win for the Germans, but I'm playing it again today 😀
CoC2 at @jeff965.bsky.social - my US advance under the support of a Sherman, 60mm mortar and a 30cal MG team. No sign of Jerry yet
Another great game of CoC2 today, good fun and great to roll some dice again with @geofftbond.bsky.social
Cracking game of CoC2 at Jeff’s. His Evil Nazis edged a close game against my defending Yanks. If only sergeant Trump hadn’t ran away like a big girls blouse.
Today's game was a Sharpe Practice Peninsula affair, with a Spanish Militia force supported by Guerrillas and British Light infantry and Rifles taking on French troops that included both infantry and cavalry.
Yesterday's game of Chain of Command was the flank attack scenario, with US infantry supported by armour and 60mm mortars against a well dug in German Heer platoon. #spreadthelard #chainofcommand2
Getting the forces together for my Panzer Lehr Normandy campaign. The Germans are done, and so it's onto the Brits. First section painted, consisting of a rifle team and a bren team plus a junior leader. PSC 15mm figures in plastic. #spreadthelard #chainofcommand2
Yesterday I ran a CoC2 learning game for a long time wargaming friend. We played the Attack and defend scenario with US troops attacking a German infantry platoon just after the Normandy landings. We played in 15mm, to give that nice sense of space i really like.
Painting a box of winter Fallshirmjager for my grandson. Ive used contrast paints and the block paint, wash and highlights method to get these two teams done. They are very quick painting styles that give a half decent figure that I can churn out quite quickly.
Tonight's viewing, for about the 10th time. Has anything better been made since?
Well a very tired but happy Jeff returns to a very wet and unhappy Wales (less said the better, I suppose), after a very busy WWL6 in Bristol. Better make a start on some opposition for my 6mm French, in the shape of some British infantry. Baccus figures as usual 😀
Painted some 15mm Panzer Lehr for the latest Lardy PSC. 3 Sections each including 2 teams of 4 men with an MG42 and a JL. Two SL's and 2 Panzershreck teams (just in case I need them). On to the vehicles next 😀 #spreadthelard #chainofcommand2
Very British Civil Wargame today, laid on by @glenbrookgames.bsky.social Using the Fistful of Lead Bigger Battles ruleset. Biscuit factory Militia supported by Welsh Nationalists take on the Britsh Union of Fascists and the West Mercia Constabulary in a very bloody (and sometimes funny) skirmish.
Chain of Command 2 today, with Jacobs Russians trying to capture the T junction in the middle of the farm. #spreadthelard #chainofcommand2
I've got my copy and if you like Chain of Command you'll love this. I'm even thinking of trying to make friends with a couple of people just to get a big CoC game in!! 😳
Right then, work is done, I am now off to eat and drink myself into a coma for the next two days. Merry Christmas everyone, see you on the other side of Christmas ( you know, that strange week that really fucks with your head 😂)
