I got into this a bit in my column last week but I think social platforms' extreme push toward sales, slop and outrage has done a lot to degrade people's attitudes toward tech, even if they're still using them and still buying. People feeling compelled to do things that feel bad breeds resentment!

That site is worse at steering you to rage bait, this site has more people searching around and seeking out things to be raged by. Both sites are better the further your posts remain from the algorithm

It isn't that bsky is a 'bubble', it's that being a shithead in the replies gets you an immediate nuclear-block, rather than immediately rewarded with Skinner-box treats
I think we'll have a good idea on what Danford is after this year. I've never been super duper high on him, but I was very pleasantly surprised by his playoffs with the Marlies. I hope they let him lean into his transition game more, because that's where he'll find his NHL upside if he has it.

Said it on the other site - the WNBA should just call their bluffs. Neither of these dudes will actually try to play. They’ll see it as beneath them and then come up with some bit about how the fact they weren’t stopped shows how crazy the league is or whatever and everyone will move on.

I’m at a stag and the raffle grand prize was a $12,000 Rolex and when they announced just before the draw that they were gonna pick five winners and prune them down instead of picking one, I turned around to my table and declared I was going to be drawn first and then lose on the last elimination

holy shit. this is horrible. i never expected pbs to me indoctrinating kids into using a questionable tool that could harm them, let alone telling kids to outsource their ideas. this is truly a sign of the times and it's not good
