My little cat is crossing the rainbow bridge this week. To help with my grieving I’ve started writing a story that popped into my head two days ago about a black cat. I’ve always wanted to write/illustrate a picture book about her. I may publish it in the future but for now it’s just for me.

My dad found this typewriter that must have belonged to a great-aunt. He remembered our conversation about them from a few weeks ago and how I said I wanted one. It led to a fun phone call and our “see you in the funny papers/not if I see you first” goodbye. It made my day. #writingcommunity

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning. Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.
