Many writers understand interiority but struggle applying it to their own story. Interiority= Thoughts Emotions Reactions Visceral responses Helps reader connect to POV character Shares details about plot & character Using combo of showing + telling helps reader understand what’s happening.

Are you a neurodivergent writer? Sometimes editing can feel like looking for the forest when you’re stuck between the trees. What you need are the tools that work with your brain instead of against it. Highly recommend: Reverse outlines Working with YOUR learning style (audio, written, etc)

Struggling through the revision process is completely normal. But you should start with a PLAN. Start with the free resources on my website. After that, grab my Reverse Outline workshop (on sale for $27.) It’ll help you get a bird’s-eye view of your story. Website link in bio. #writingcommunity

No matter how good or clean your first draft is, you'll still have to revise. If a particular element is very hard for you, it's ok to leave it out for now. If skipping a scene doesn't feel right, try writing it in short sentences that can even be all "tell" (for now). #writingcommunity

How old were you when you wrote your first story/book? I love stories about lil bb writers. But it's just as valid if you didn't fall in love with writing until you were an adult. We all find pieces of ourselves at different paces, and that's more than okay--it's magical. #writersky

All the pieces of the story, back-story, character development, etc. are in your head. But they aren't always on the page. What you need is to get another set of eyes on your pages—cps and beta readers who can tell you what they aren't seeing so you can fill in the blanks. #writingcommunity

That fawning tone is typical of AI responses to challenges or objections--I see it all the time in scammers' responses to writers who don't just credulously swallow the Kool Aid. Obsequious "thank you for your thoughtful response and I totally understand your objection, it's a credit to you" B.S.

A commenter on this post (shout out to @faziarizvi.bsky.social ) pointed to how fawning the AI author voice sounds and honestly that's the perfect word for it. Fawning. Manipulative. It's slimy and it's always made me uncomfortable in that "this feels like the intro to a horror movie" sense.

If you are a horror fan, you need to watch the film Mārama. It just became available on Apple TV, and it’s a Māori gothic revenge horror and just … whew that’s some serious generational and feminine rage, and the actors are amazing but especially Ariāna Osborne.
