ABSOLUTELY not just you <3 I have spent quite some time aggressively blocking, muting and ignoring any content that bothers me. I have close to 3k blocks now ^^. It’s become my own passive form of resistance. It makes the place somewhat useable, but there is some way yet to go.

Your poem is so eloquent and deserves to be read widely.

2/2 The encampments have grown up under the railway bridges of metro stations in northern Paris. The photos give some sense of them. I was there doing food distribution with Serve the City Paris. Many thanks to @jennymitchellgo.bsky.social for her mentoring and her advice on structuring the poem.

I’ve just started using Instagram but wonder if it’s the place where real life goes to become potential content?

I'm receiving emails that are literally leaving me wide-mouthed with shock at their sense of entitlement, all around funding. Has it somehow become the main/only issue we think about when doing creative work? Does this create negative dynamics & ultimately harm the work? Can we do better? Must we? 🐦

I've just been recognised on Facebook as a Top Fan of @wcorklitfest.bsky.social. I think it's because I responded to lots of their pictures. Whatever the reason, I get a special (virtual) badge, and what could be better than that? Here are pix of Bantry in West Cork to show some reasons I'm a fan.

I left X for a while , and in going back it seems to have changed: loads of posts about books. Is Instagram for visual people and X now for bookworms? Probably too general. 🦋💞📚

I wrote two poems years ago when no one was listening much. Now they're to be included in an installation at Nunhead Cemetery. You just never know where words will take you... 🐦

As a poet, one of the best things I can do with my work is share it with community groups, who then write poetry for well-being. I've seen it make a real difference to those who've been silenced or marginalised, and I'm excited at all the prospective work ahead... 📖

They need to use a different word to “sacked” when MPs are moved on - sacked implies they live in the same world as the majority of us.

I went to a conference once on childhood poverty. A speaker said that if people were guaranteed food they wouldn’t work. Does food insecurity ens there are people squashed onto the tube every morning?

I once had to arrange utilities disconnection for a woman who refused to read her meter as 'the cellar is haunted.' When I got the engineer's report back it read; 'Could not disconnect, was pelted with nails by unseen entity.'

My modest book signing during the @wcorklitfest.bsky.social reminds me of helping Maya Angelou as she signed a thousand books years ago. She managed 999 & then went into Diva mode. It was quite a challenge & a lesson to keep smiling. Many thanks to Cammy @ Bantry Bookshop for all her great support.

Sometimes performing poems by heart can be nerve wracking, but it always seems to change the atmosphere somehow. Here I am at the @wcorklitfest.bsky.social going into a 'dream state' as I bring the words out. I'm still processing the amazing feedback from the kind audience. 💚

#Brexit was a great idea - if you want to ensure creative organisations don't have any funding to work with community groups. That helps to ensure people don't have a sense of community, and feel more isolated and open to the nonsense that says 'Other People' are enemies.

You can tell I'm a writer because of the dodgy spelling. I spent a lot of time in class blocking out the teacher & dreaming of being a writer. Spot the *hugh* mistake! 😊
