Checking off a bucket list item — cooking on a finicky AGA in the Cotswolds. Over a couple of days, made beef stew, pulled lamb, falafel, several breakfasts and countless pots of tea.

The eldest daughter has figured out that you can buy three pomegranates for ~$15 or you can buy one little tub of pomegranate seeds for ~$12. Reader, she has watched youtube videos and is now a proficient pomegranate butcher.

This is like how my grandpa made his ribs: * soaked them in a black plastic trash bag in his garage fridge overnight with onions, soy sauce and grape jelly * braised in the oven until they were basically meat Jello * chilled overnight and grilled next day until with sauce for a caramelized crust
