I don't even understand the point of this. There are approximately zero voters in Michigan who will be swayed by this.
I don’t like this one bit. The AAUP doesn’t need to endorse candidates at all. www.insidehighered.com/news/governm...
The "Democratic Establishment" should maybe spend some time quietly comparing and contrasting Haley Stevens and Elissa Slotkin
If you look at what she quote-tweeted, it's a 23-second clip of AES mocking AIPAC for spending tens of millions of dollars trying to defeat him with a flailing candidate. Stevens translates this as "blam[ing] all of your problems on Jewish Americans." So, AES just isn't allowed to mention AIPAC??
She knows she’s losing so she said let’s just go mask off.
Spent a couple of months in Texas reporting the story of the Prairieland protesters, the first Americans convicted as Antifa terrorists, for @motherjones.com One of them told me: “We are not terrorists, we are being terrorized.”
How anti-ICE protesters became prisoners in Trump's war on antifa

There's no question that some of the protesters showed up to the ICE facility well-armed, and one of them, Benjamin Song, shot a cop. But in my view, there's little evidence that there was any sort terrorist conspiracy to "ambush" law enforcement. Give Andrew's story a read, and decide for yourself

Savanna Batten went to an anti-ICE protest. Now she’s serving 50 years in federal prison.

Seems awfully relevant in light of this! www.politico.com/live-updates...
Tuberville: "I'll be the governor of Alabama and I promise you we will find out if there's a possibility that we can bring him to Alabama to put him in front of a court and a jury to see if we can put this guy in prison. He killed millions of people, folks."
In this context, it is not particularly hard to understand why Fauci would take the Fifth
Comey reveals details on Trump DOJ's seashells probe: Feds got warrants by misleading a judge about interviews with "Person 1," an "estranged" Comey associate with an axe to grind, per the filing. This person "only" understood "86" to be restaurant slang—until listening to Giuliani's podcast.
ref-working is a really annoying fact of life, but it's particularly annoying to see how many refs actually think the point of reffing is to be worked
NEW: I dug into the court documents in the case of Andrea Shaw, the Idaho mother charged with killing her toddlers. Shaw insists they died following a set of vaccinations. I looked at how the anti-vaccine movement insinuated itself into this case and her life. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
She's charged with killing her twins. The anti-vaccine movement made her a martyr.
Andrea Shaw is charged with suffocating her toddlers. Children's Health Defense says it was the vaccines.

This statement alone should be job-ending for *any* executive, and especially *this* one
The attack ad targeting Will Lawrence is so transparently ridiculous that it'll actually backfire. The attacks, on their face, are generic to the point of meaninglessness—and so comically dishonest that a lot of primary voters are going to see journalism and social media mocking it
Super PAC Attacks Progressive Will Lawrence Over His $11,000 401(k) - The American Prospect
The ad buy costs 48 times more than the T. Rowe Price target fund owned by Lawrence, who leads in a swing-seat House race in Michigan.

I mean, *about* 30 minutes. Parliamentarian will see how the debate is going any will award a loose amount of extra time.
In case of a tie, an additional 30 minutes will be played, divided into two 15-minute periods. If it remains tied, a shootout decides.

I still can't believe how little concern there seemed to be from many critics of Israel that the person running to become the most prominent Israel critic in the US government had a Nazi tattoo
Jesus, Folarin Balogun is such an American hero. Everything Donald Trump is not.

Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia and U.S. star forward Folarin Balogun cleared the air after the Red Devils beat the Americans 4-1 in the Round of 16.

I *think* this is my view: 1) The Balogun red card was correct according to the rules 2) The rules are bad 3) The process by which VAR was used to apply the rules was is nuts 4) The "process" by which which it was overturned was absurd 5) Trump getting involved is a travesty 6) The outcome is good
It feels like the Colo. GOP is in a sort of death spiral where the least extreme voters flee the party, which results in the remaining voters nominating even more extreme candidates, which results in the next-least extreme voters fleeing the party, which…[repeat until there's 1 remaining GOP voter]
National Republicans: "Zomg Dem voters love Marx" Colorado Republicans:
There Is No "Fourth Branch" of Government*, SCOUTS Rules
This is the most transparently absurd set of twin decisions in Cook and Slaughter.
Seems like a relatively rare example of an issue where an Alito retirement could make SCOTUS more Trumpy

Is there a @pulitzerprizes.bsky.social for metaphors? I think they can just award this one now.
