Think Flock cameras increase safety and privacy? Think again. Courts currently say it’s constitutional because you have no expectation of privacy on public roads. But what it really creates is a surveillance state. George Orwell called it Big Brother. Now it has a brand name.

You’re not going to believe what Mike Johnson and Republicans are doing now. Or rather, NOT doing. Because the one thing the GOP seems to want—other than keeping the Epstein files hidden— is taking more paid vacation on your dime.
Almost 1M children have now lost access to nutritional assistance as a result of Trump’s and Republicans’ “One Big Beautiful bill.” How? “Collateral damage” from the bills cuts and paperwork requirements. Kids are collateral damage in *all* of Republicans’ policies. Remember it in November.
Cities dumped Flock cameras over surveillance abuse, then signed with Axon instead. Same tracking tech, different logo. Oh, and Trump bought up to $5 million in Axon stock 2 weeks before ICE gave it a $220M contract. Gross corruption. Video from @moreperfectunion.bsky.social #CostOfCorruption
Hey media! Mike Johnson REALLY doesn’t like being asked about the Iran war. So make sure you do that every day between now and November, K? Because he and his Republican caucus ABSOLUTELY own it.
This is from today’s Midterm Madness. I’m doing these lives on YT and FB on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2PM PT/ 5PM ET. I'll discuss our efforts to flip the House and Senate, stop Trump's election sabotage, and make sure every American's vote is counted this November!
Watch this courageous man stand up to the Texas lawmakers trying to cut polling places in a blue district in Texas by 30%. “You’re fired.” Yesssss! All of us need to channel this level of defiance and courage every day between now and the midterms. Let’s gooo! 👊
It turns out Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill (or Working Families Tax Cut, as they are trying to rebrand it) didn’t just gut nutritional assistance and healthcare. It also made sure lots of data centers would get built in rural communities…for cheap. Your tax dollars at work, folks! Just…not for you.
The IRS is out with new data proving that “millionaire flight” when taxes go up in their state is not a thing. Read the white paper at fiscalpolicy(dot)org/states-with-progressive-tax-systems-are-the-most-millionaire-friendly
I went to a prayer vigil in downtown LA today held by Clue Justice. Sometimes you just need to get into community and lay some flowers at the gates of hell. Grateful for every single person who is showing up and speaking out for our immigrant brothers and sisters. Love > hate, every time.
20-year old aspiring medical student Pierre Damas Bel took his own life this week because ICE took away his —along with 100,000s of other Haitian immigrants’—TPS. He was forced to wear an ankle monitor and lost his JROTC status. Now he’s gone. Thanks to @hereswhykevin and WaPo for the reporting
Messaging tip: When you hear people complain about gas prices make sure you remind them that these prices are a direct policy choice by Trump (launching a war of choice) SUPPORTED BY GOP LAWMAKERS. This is important, because Trump isn’t on the ballot November 3—they are. b) the solution is to VOTE.
Just when you thought the Flock camera situation couldn’t get any worse? @motherjones.com reveals that municipalities are using opioid settlement money to buy more surveillance cameras. They make it work by saying it’s for “drug surveillance.” Meanwhile? Treatment goes unfunded. Outrageous.
News getting you down? Here’s some of the great things that happened last week while we were all busy doomscrolling! Enjoy! And be sure to follow @Sander Jennings @Sylvia | Latina @Eliza Orlins @The Zactivist @Women in America and me so you never miss a weekly roundup! 🎉🎉
Congressional Republicans are allowing Trump to start a global food crisis. Think food prices are high now? Wait til year. So much…winning?
Google Maps has changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America because a sundowning, traitorous madman told them to. Apple Maps has not. Choose accordingly.
Want to see a brave young human absolutely demolish Flock cameras without lifting a finger? Watch this!
Congressional Republicans are allowing Trump to start a global food crisis. Think food prices are high now? Wait til next year. So much…winning?
Dolly Parton is being lauded for all kinds of things. She deserves all of it. But I also want to celebrate something fewer are talking about—her unbelievable courage.
Does Pete Hegseth have his own Natalie Harp-type aide? He does— his wife Jennifer. Like Natalie, she gatekeeps information. Unlike Natalie, however, she has access to top-level national security secrets. Not good!
The billionaires who own corporate media are coming after Mayor Mamdani, and it’s getting ugly. You can help. Please do. (Thanks to Rebecca Crosby and Noel Sims of @popular.info for the great reporting! Article linked in first comment.)
MS NOW: Under Pete Hegseth, the number of service members looking to leave the military on moral grounds has skyrocketed. It’s a sad moment in history when the most patriotic thing you can do as a servicemember is…not serve.
A great new ad from the @ginafortexas.bsky.social campaign reminds everyone that when it comes to Greg Abbott and government surveillance? There’s no daylight between them at all.
I met with Norm Eisen today about the SCOTUS vote by mail ruling. He’s working on this case, and has a track record of winning against the Trump administration. HE ISN’T WORRIED! Please watch and share—there’s a lot of misinformation out there!
Unbelievable. In a new court filing Trump‘s DOJ wants to tear down the Kennedy center completely if they’re not allowed to proceed with the renovations they want. Which include, of course, inscribing his name on the building. Meanwhile, are your grocery bills coming down? I didn’t think so.
Greg Abbott=data centers. Texans are furious at him and incredible Dem candidate Gina Hinojosa is poised to reap the benefits. Gina is smart, tough, capable, and she’ll never sell Texas to the highest bidder. (P.S.— as always when dealing with candidates this is NOT a paid post! ❤️)
Whatever you call it, you just made all the goods we buy that come across our border more expensive. Michigan, he’s asking us to pay for his vanity trade war with our money.
