This is how the US does most foreign aid. The money funds American workers, companies, and products to the fullest extent possible. It's a job creation program as much as it is aid, perhaps more so.

“Vote blue no matter who” was never an expression of commitment to the Democratic Party and its processes and voters. It was always a device for blaming the left when a corporate Democrat lost to a fascist. The 2021 Buffalo mayors race proved this, and it’s only become more flagrant since.
In 2022, Mitch McConnell voted down a proposal to extend seven sick days to railroad workers. So far in 2026, he has taken over six weeks of medical leave. By his own lights, he should be terminated from his job and the US Government should claw back his last six weeks of salary.
Meanwhile, New York *rejected* this billionaire and he’s STILL moving here.
