I would like to see James Blunt and Steve Coogan side by side.
Youngest has been told about the 500 words story competition at school and has been working solidly for the last 30mins. He was glad when I showed him how to see the word count. ‘Oh good, now I don’t have to count them.’ He’s motivated by the possibility of tea with the queen prize.
Can’t afford one and I was very sniffy when I first saw them everywhere in the summer, but are tentbox’s any good?
So many scam callers, all sounding like something you should listen to. Just had a no caller id saying they were HSBC and when I said ‘that’s suspicious’ they said ‘I’m sorry, can you explain why?’ I responded ‘scam’ and they hung up. Now I feel affronted that I didn’t get to tell them off.
Now my son has started bellringing - and by default me too- I have more of an appreciation of how hard this is.
Also all of this series. It’s not really about the mouse is it.
A favourite cat book. (Bit of a traumatic story but all ends well.)
I love my children, but I wonder when flushing the toilet will become routine?
Wishing the rain had held off until after the bank holiday and my camping at a festival all weekend.
Bit of rain and I want to roast a chicken and make a crumble.
Came last in a quiz. Expected it as I’ve no head for quizzes. People I was with are not used to coming last so we’re more bitter.
I have sorted my garden out a bit and in doing so remembered that I do quite like my garden when it is a bit sorted.
Plans involve farmers market, visit to the library and a bell ringing open day. -I’m living midsummer murders, without the murders.
Well I now have a better eclipse story than the 1999 ‘parked on a common with a friend and her baby asleep in the back and saw nothing but cloud.’ A kind friend gave us their spare glasses and we all shared it while glamping in a barn in Derbyshire in the middle of nowhere.
Just got an Eribe cardigan at a scarecrow weekend for £6. And it’s beautiful.
Picked up the cats from the cattery and they’ve gone quite chatty.
Went to Cornwall, liked Cornwall. Will probably stick to Pembrokeshire in the future; half the distance and equally pretty but fewer crowds.
Going to see Scissor Sisters later. Got to be the hardest band name to pronounce.
@nationaltheatre.org.uk I remember watching ‘Hangmen’ with Andy Nyman broadcast into cinemas. Was that one of yours? Is it available to watch again anywhere?
Eldest son and I are horrified to learn I’ve been misplacing Essex for the entirety of my life.
Made courgette and beetroot fritters. Made up the recipe, they’re yummy.
Got a Joules stripy sailor skirt in the charity shop today for £5, and it’s made my week.
