This summer Im focusing on studying art so what I learned from my Mario drawing is that making thumbnails for color distribution is probably really useful. I can’t be bothered now but I would’ve added a piranha plant stem to his torso to balance the green and break up the red more :catjam:

Summer starting point: an Amano study. I thought to simplify it a little and realized during painting that I threw off the color balancing. Amano is so deliberate, it's crazy. I've admired him all my life and never noticed some of the details until I actually sat down and tried to imitate
