I understand there will be a book of condolence opened following the passing of Rod Liddle, at which a very long line of people are expected to queue up in order to speak ill of the dead.
I don’t imagine old Binface is actually going to win, but how delicious it would be if he ran the twat-fascist close! Impossible task though. I reckon some of the cunts in Clacton would vote for the Yorkshire Ripper if he promised to kill some migrants in order to appease their bigotry.

#HorrorWritersChat I usually show nothing. Their surface is often practically blank. They can be pleasant, accommodating, amiable, even charming. Certainly very ordinary. By the time their victims realise just what their fate is, it’s already too late. My monsters win.

#HorrorWritersChat My own monsters are human. They’re also often my narrators, so they introduce themselves. Invariably I inveigle them into the reader’s consciousness as very ordinary people. Because the real monsters are hiding in plain sight…

#HorrorWritersChat I tend to use ‘the turn of the day’ to convey the passage of time, although, if I think about it, this tends to be morning becoming afternoon, rather than the slow shift from light to dark. I’m trying to set more stories ‘outside’. I still think ‘outside’ has ‘interiority’.

I’ve just had my narrator say ‘I’ll spare you the details’ and I’m thinking, jeepers, he’s not really doing his job as a narrator is he?
Had a dream the night before last about sitting in a cafe with my chimpanzee friend Terry Onions. We had fruit cake.
Very sad to learn of the passing of Sam Neil. Just about my favourite film of his is the underrated ‘Dean Spanley’. It’s a strange and wonderful film, and Neil is terrific in it.
