Scalley said the distribution of Wayshawn Parker with other playmakers helps keep him healthy, but also takes away from the predictable side of the offense. Wayshawn wants the ball all the time, but he's a team player and knows it needs to be spread around.

Scalley said Dampier's interception was more a "bad technique" situation and him not using his hips as well. It was just a one-off, but has a ton of confidence in Dampier and what's he's been able to do this season.

Scalley said they realized Ricky Johnson could be a contributor to the offense in spring ball. It was pretty apparent that he would be a playmaker. "I think we're doing a really good job of distribution" of the ball, and Devon Dampier is doing well to find all the receivers.

Scalley said good players are the reason why he's been able to be so successful to his start as a head coach. Said they're only five games in, though, and there's still so much to learn and improve upon. Said he has a lot of advantages because he's been at Utah for so long.

Scalley said if Isaac Wilson is the QB, "he has the arm talent." Said it's not a big deal to see a former player who knows a lot about Utah. He (and Jason Stokes) know terminology well, but it's still a "team game, and I don't read too much into it."

Scalley said the offensive line has "worked its tails off" and they've been really solid through this point in the season. Says Zereoue Williams is playing "elite football." Was really proud of how the O-Line stood up against a very solid Kansas defense.

Scalley said he doesn't care where the sacks come from in his answer about why DEs aren't able to get sacks. Said he'd rather have a good run defense. He wants sacks, but he's happier to have a solid, top-10 run defense.

Scalley said there's definitely some things they need to clean up on the back end of the defense, but they have some guys to do it. He said he's not worried there and feels like they're doing well.

Scalley said the Kansas QB made some really good throws and the receivers made some great catches, but "not good enough" to allow 17.5 yards per completion. But points to the QB being only 50% completion as a positive side of that.

Morgan Scalley said it was a really good start to the game on Saturday, but there was a lull in the 2nd quarter, which began with a stop on 4th down. The momentum was all on Kansas going into the halftime break.

Wayshawn Parker is that guy … and help Utah to a win. "They put the trust with the ball in my hands, so I tell coach McGiven every time, 'You get the ball in my hands, I'm gonna make it work.' That's what I did." www.ksl.com/article/5163...

Scalley said the biggest issues for his defense were the pass interference calls. "Bottom line is they made some plays ... and we didn't do a good enough job trying to find the ball."

Scalley Devon Dampier "cleaned stuff up in the second half" but felt like he was holding onto the ball too long in the second quarter. But after that, he was good.

Scalley said his team was not good enough in pass defense — "definitely not good enough there." Tell of the defense was the red zone stops, which were "huge."

Morgan Scalley said "not a clean game by any stretch, but it's tough to win in college football." Said the first drive in the 3rd quarter helped Utah get off to a great start. Told his team "you have to enjoy this" because it's not easy to win.
