I finished book 44 which was Septimus Brown's (@septimusbrown.com) , "No Country for Old Dragons: We've Come for Your Eggs II". This is the sequel to "We've Come for Your Eggs", a fantasy satire of the U.S.–Canada trade war (especially the bit about the egg shortage). Great satire and great book!

I finished book 43 which was Richard Osman's, "The impossible Fortune". This is the 5th book in the Thursday Murder Club series of murder mystery books. 4 pensioners get together to solve old murders, or as it often turns out, current murders. Well written good book.

Hey y'all, if you like a book that is a little mystery, a little bit history, some of is actual history, and a bit military with a relatable main character, you should check this book out. Actually this is number 20 so you should check 'em all out. Read 'em all, liked all of them.

I finished book 42 which was Alex Shvartsman's, "Dreidel of Dread: The Very Cthuthu Hanukkah". This book was part of a 9 or 10 books set I got along with a kickstarter for "Unidentified Funny Objects 10". It is story of Hanukkah Henry and how he got the waking Cthuthu to go back to sleep.

I finished book 41 which was James R. Benn's (@jimmywriter.bsky.social), "A Bitter Wind". This is the 20th book in the Billy Boyle World War II Mysteries. Billy is investigating a murder in England and ends up in Yugoslavia trying to rescue an escaped POW while trying not to get killed. Great book!

I have a modest collection of signed books. It is a very small percentage of my overall book collection. Today it got less modest by 6 books. Thank you Jim Beard (@writerjimbeard.bsky.social)!

There is a very real possibility that in a few days, weeks or months, I will be called to go down to NYU Langone and will be expected to be in the NYC area for 6 weeks - 3 months. Unlike the last time I did this, I expect to be in a far more stable and able condition to read and do stuff. (cont)

I finished book 40 which was Clifford D. Simak's, "The Goblin Reservation". In the future, man can matter transmit to other planets. Bill Maxwell returns to Earth. He was sent to the wrong planet and he finds that he already returned and died. he deals with that and other issues. Good book.

I finished book 39 which was Alex Shvartsman's, "Spidersong". This was a book I got as part of a kickstarter for the 10th UFO (Unidentified Funny Objects) book. It is a collection of 31 very short, stories. Some are funny, some have an ironic end, and some are really really dark. All are good.

I finished book 38 which was was James R. Benn's (@jimmywriter.bsky.social) , "The Phantom Patrol". This is the 19th book in the Billy Boyle World War II Mystery series. Billy, Ike's special investigator seeks to take down a gang of art thieves that seem to have other plans. Great book!

I finished book 37 which was Jim Beard's (@writerjimbeard.bsky.social), "D.C. Jones and Adventure Command Book 5: vs. Super Adventure Command", the 5th, (6th) and final book in the series, final that is until book 6 comes out. (hint hint) The team faces extinction, will they survive? Was good!

I finished book 36 which was Jim Beard's (@writerjimbeard.bsky.social ) , "D.C. Jones and Adventure Command Book 4: Control Your TV Set". I would call this a short story book told in the form of several episodes on a TV show based on Adventure Command. Very well done.

I would watch the absolute hell out of that!

I finished book 35 which was Jim Beard's, (@jimbeard.bsky.social) "D.C. Jones and Adventure Command Book 3: Assault on Mummy Mountain". The Adventure Command team continues their battles against the cult that is seeking to change the world. Very entertaining and fun

I finished book 34 which was Jim Beard's (@writerjimbeard.bsky.social ) "D.C. Jones and Adventure Command book 2: Rescue at the Arctic Outpost." The team continues to pursue the cult from book 1, this time in the Arctic. Weather patterns and animals in the area seem to be controlled by the cult.

I finished book 33 which was Esther Friesner's, "Unicorn U.". This is the 3rd and final book in her Tim Desmond series, Tim Desmond is a college freshman who he finds himself dealing with the fae creatures, and underworld demons to save the world and prevent the Apocalypse. Great book.

Hey @starbucksgirl51.bsky.social , never before has "I literally just cannot even" applied so well as with this post. The only part that makes sense is if you are going to baptize an alligator in a Waffle House, it must be done in a pitcher of iced tea, as long as it is sweetened iced tea.

Last year (or was it earlier this year?) I preordered some Seanan McGuire (@seananmcguire.bsky.social ) books. I preordered a MtG book as well as the latest InCryptid book and ordered the 3 other InCryptid I did not have. They arrived today and were all signed. Thank you Seanan McGuire!

I finished book 32 which was "Chicks in Tank Tops" edited by Jason Cordova. This is the 7th and final book in the Chicks in Chainmail series. This is a series of short stories written with a female lead and involve some sort of futuristic battle tank. It was a most entertaining book.

I finished book 31 which was "Witch Way to the Mall" edited by Esther Friesner. This is a short story collection, and first in the Nephilim Psychic Investigations series. The short stories follow a general theme of witches, entire communities of witches in a suburban setting. Funny book.

I finished book 30 which was Esther Friesner's, "Harpy High", the second book in her Tim Desmond series. Tim is a typical high schooler in Brooklyn. He also happens to be one that can see all of the Fae creatures that are pouring into Brooklyn from the Leeside. He must battle Baba Yaga. Good book.

I finished book 29 which was Robert Clary's, "From the Holocaust to Hogan's Heroes: The Autobiography of Robert Clary". Fans of Hogan's Heroes will remember him as the french POW, Louis LeBeau. This book covers his long entertainment career as well as his years during the Holocaust. Great book.

I finished book 28 which was Esther Friesner's, "Gnome Man's Land", the first book in her Tim Desmond trilogy. Tim Desmond is a typical school boy in Brooklyn. He finds himself with an attached banshee waiting for him to die and in the middle of a war with different fey factions.

I finished book 27 which was "Schlock Mercenary: The Tub of Happiness" by Howard Taylor. This is the first collection of the Schlock Mercenary web comic featuring the mercenaries of Tagon's Toughs. If a job needs to be done with extreme chaos and violence, they are the team to hire. Great books!

I finished book 26 which was "Chicks and Balances" edited by Esther Friesner and John Helfers. This is the 6th book in the Chicks in Chainmail series of fantasy short stories featuring female protagonists who tend to kick ass. It's a funny series with stories by a lot of authors I like.

I finished book 25 which was J.N. Chaney's, "Yesterday's Tomorrow". This is the 3rd book in the 1-800-STARSHIP series. Earthing star fighter pilot, Mark Allen leads Rylos squadron in their war against the Ascendancy. Very fun and entertaining book. Would make a great movie.

I finished book 24 which was J.N. Chaney's, "The Last Emperor". This is the 2nd book in the 1-800-STARSHIP series. Human Mark Allen continues his role as squad leader of Rylos squad, a group of Nova star fighter pilots who take part in the war against the Ascendancy. Great book!

I finished book 23 which was J.N. Chaney's, "1-800-Srarship". If you liked the movie "The Last Starfighter", then you'll like this book. It is a similar concept, a young man from Earth is recruited to join a galactic alliance in their war against an alien enemy. Great book, would make a great movie.
