Played the excellent Spooktacular by @level99games.com tonight! If horror films coming to life and killing folks in an 80s cinema sounds like a good time, then you'll be pleased to know that there's a really tight, fun "ain't over til it's over" game that can be played in 45 minutes! #boardgames

Dark Pact by @trickortreatgames.bsky.social - the perfect game to replace Dominion in our collection - I wouldn't recommend it as a first-time deck builder as it can be long combo heavy, but is superb for seasoned players. And of course, the theme is a big draw for horror fans! #boardgames
When @fantasyflightgames.bsky.social said they were doing a crowdfunding for older titles I didn't have this in the sweepstake; guess I get to see what all the people who grumpily told me they preferred 2nd edition were talking about! gamefound.com/en/projects/... #boardgames #arkhamhorror
Arkham Horror Remastered - Vault Series by Fantasy Flight Games - Gamefound
The first Vault Series campaign from Fantasy Flight Games brings back the classic Arkham Horror board game in an amazing Remastered edition. Gather your investigators and embark on a dark adventure to...

Played the new version of Reichbusters last night - maybe an unpopular opinion but not convinced I prefer it to the original - a lot of the "streamline" has removed the nuance and charm - having said that, vril weapons are now not terrible. Will play a bit more to form a full opinion... #boardgame
Cthulhu: Death May Die Season 1 - Episode 6 - Unspeakable Hour with Rasputin, Eddie and Lizzy Borden! First time playing the scenario which wasn't difficult, but sadly the Black Goat of the Woods proved too much for our heroes, with a lone Rasputin dying just before the end... #boardgames
Played a "friendly" #BloodBowl match on Sunday, my Dark Elves against Underworld Denizens - they have seen an improvement in Modern BB and I was not ready for it! (Read as I lost). Then some Intent to Kill by @25thcentury.games - although not played in a while it was quick to teach! #boardgames
Latest experiment in basing: Putting the Dark Elf Blood Bowl team on balsa wood planks to recreate their ship deck pitch... #BloodBowl #Boardgames
Carrion Screaming faced off against Tomb Kings, with werewolf Ken "Death" Williams breaking free of a midfield melee to score the winning touchdown. I thought they fixed Khem- I mean Tomb Kings for season three but it seems like they face the same old problems? Any takes? #bloodbowl #boardgames
Been a bit sloppy about logging my plays of late - Totally forgot to take any pictures of Clank in Space last week and Warhammer Quest Cursed City last night, past this blurry one - must do better! #aos #gamesworkshop #boardgames
A game of Cursed City last night which the players won fairly easily. Mechanics are nice and simple and this was fine as learning mission. I really appreciated how beautiful the figures were. #boardgames
Going through some old gaming stuff, and this hit hard - although it wasn't until 1999 I had a weekly playgroup, so many fond memories... Anyone else used to play the original? I always played Agency, Texas Rangers or Whateleys... Occasionally Law Dogs. #doomtown #deadlands #boardgames #CCG
2nd game of the #BloodBowl league and my first win! Faced humans this time and was worried in the face of their versatility. The game opened with them charging over the line and catching the ball in my half, but that was where their luck ran out. 2-0 to Carrion Screaming in the end. #boardgames
Played #starwars Outer Rim this evening, bounty hunting my way across the galaxy as Boba Fett. First time I've picked up the character appropriate ship, and managed my first game win in some time - although if I hadn't someone else would have the next turn. Pictures: all my bounties! #boardgames
4 months after starting them (and only one game in on the league) I've completed Carrion Screaming, my Necromantic Horror team for #BloodBowl. Next up: in my first game against High Elves I managed to kill a Lion Blitzer, and was kindly donated a spare mini to make a zombie version! #Boardgames
Played Dark Providence at game night this week - I had a poor experience with A Study in Emerald a long time ago so was a little apprehensive (as this is a reimplantation), but found a tight, tense, enjoyable guesswork co-op that had plenty to keep our interest going even at 5 players. #boardgames
More in our ongoing #residentevil #boardgame campaign by @steamforgedgames.bsky.social! Lisa Trevor caused us our first defeat last session, but we came back with a plan and saw her off. Unfortunately the waterway handed us another 2 defeats, but we managed to unlock Aqua Ring for next time! 🦈
Well, #UKGE trade halls are finally too big to do in a day - typically we manage 2 sweeps but only got around 1 and a half times before tapping out. We haven't done a full weekend since my tournament days, but maybe for '27 - forgot to take any meaningful pictures so here's our haul... #boardgame
Last night we played Beast! This is the 4th hidden movement game in our collection, and I was worried it wouldn't find a place (or maybe fire one of the others), but does enough differently to keep it in conjunction - the card drafting especially makes for interesting decision space! #boardgames
Decided to finally buy my last grail #boardgame from the list. Wonder if I'll ever find something else to add to it?
Kicked off our local #bloodbowl league with a double header, High Elf Vs Necromantic (3-2) and Human Vs Lizardmen (3-3). Can't believe it's taken me 32 years to get it back to the table - had an incredible time of crazy plays (and failures!) and laughter. Excited for my next game! #boardgames
It's been a while, but tonight was Sniper Elite by @rebellionunplugged.bsky.social - an enjoyable and tense hidden movement game that can be played in an hour once you've grasped it. Lost the first game as the sniper (by one move!) but picked up a win with some sneaking and mines! #boardgames
With the #bloodbowl league starting in two weeks, better crack the new rulebook... (12 is scarily nearly accurate) #boardgames
With our #BloodBowl league starting in two weeks I'm having to work on the team I started back in January (Carrion Screaming) with some urgency... I'm coming out of the stage where I hate my painting (standard operating procedure) and am quietly confident they'll be ready in time. #boardgames
Gave The Plum Island Horror by @gmtgames.bsky.social a test run ahead of #boardgame night... Although outside my usual games, this hit my radar due to the @thesecretcabal.bsky.social - I've wanted to try this type of game for a while and the theme really appeals - pleased to say it is really great!
Out of respect for the Dreamweaver I didn't take any photos whilst he was onstage, but Garth Merenghi was brilliant as always last night. It was quite a diversion from the last two tours, there's a clue in the picture... Looking forward to whatever is coming next from @mrholness.bsky.social!
A fun evening of slapping the ice cream hypnosis out of seaside townsfolk until Dagon appeared for a sound thrashing (actual plot of the episode). Good times once again with Cthulhu: Death May Die! #boardgame
We're returning to Cthulhu Death May Die tomorrow in Lost Episode 1: Speak Fhtagn or Die with Dagon! Cultmaster X and Lords Faceless and Nameless are hatching some sort of diabolical plot with hypnotic ice cream (yes really) - can our intrepid yet insane heroes save the day? #boardgame #cthulhu
I've been looking forward to getting these miniatures and components sorted all week for a World of Smog campaign we're starting in May - also going to take the time before we start to read all the lore they've put into the campaign books and manuals, it's really quite a rich setting! #boardgames
The second shop I tried to find was also gone, but I finally found something worth visiting, the aptly named Wargamer! Great selection of Games Workshop and alikes, and nice to see people having a wargame in the shop! Quite a few ranges I didn't know, so educational at least! 2/2 #boardgames
Next on my European city board game visits - Warsaw! The first I tried to find was supposedly in the catacombs beneath central station, and on my quest I felt transported to a future shock movie of the 70s. As it transpired that was more fun than the destination, but a fitting end! 1/2 #boardgames
Great Afternoon teaching #ShadowsofBrimstone - just a typical day in the mines fighting giant scorpions, rats and tentacles before facing an alien raiding party from a planet trapped in a forever trench war! The game was a success, with new characters selected for an ongoing campaign! #boardgame
