Emmett Till would have been 85 today (b. 7/25/1941). The 14-year-old Chicagoan was brutally murdered by white men while visiting relatives in Miss. in 1955. His murder & the acquittal of the killers made Till an icon of the civil rights movement. Image: Public domain photo taken by Till’s mother.

This black and white photo shows a Black teenaged boy—Emmett Till—wearing a shirt, tie, and hat.

“The vehicle attempted to flee the scene and, fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon.” Fleeing. The vehicle was driving away. That’s murder. A legal resident of the United States is now dead. The threat to public safety is ICE. It must be eliminated.

Homeland Security: On July 13, 2026, at approximately 7:00 AM ET, ICE was conducting targeted surveillance on the last known address of an illegal alien with a final order of removal. An illegal alien departed the residence in a vehicle. ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The vehicle attempted to flee the scene and, fearing for public safety, an officer discharged his weapon.

The driver of the vehicle was struck, and emergency services were immediately contacted. He passed away from his injuries.

The Biddeford Police Department and FBI responded to the scene. DHS OIG has been notified and like all discharge of firearms this will be investigated. This is a developing situation, and we will update the public when more information is available.

I've been remiss, partly because of how bad it hurts to think about, but Lou Holtz has brought me back to it. Losing Jesse Jackson was a massive hit for humanity. That man did as much for the black cause as any other, including MLK and anyone else you can name. Jesse was a FORCE of humanity.

They're calling for anywhere from 18 - 36 inches overnight where I'm at right now. All of my electric heaters, and my roof rake, are at my place up north. About an hour drive each direction. My snowblower needed some wrenching done, as did my generator. I chose to stay and do the wrenching.
