While the press rabidly hallucinates about left-wing terrorists, and governments proscribe anti-fascist movements, today we simply remember the victims of Utøya.

#OtD 22 Jul 2011 neo-Nazi Anders Breivik killed 77 and injured 242 in separate bomb and gun terrorist attacks in Norway. Many of those killed were children at a Labour Party Youth camp, murdered as he screamed "You are going to die today, Marxists!" stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9489...

Last night I finished watching the first season of Star City. It's brilliant, anxiety-inducing, horrifying, uplifting, dark and a raft of other emotions. The cast is amazing, and Anna Maxwell Martin's character is stone cold terrifying. Looking forward, I think, to Season 2.

Last time ENG-ARG played this match, the score was counted in thousands of deaths. A poor way to celebrate a win from a consistently unpleasant set of men.

Anyone got any opinions on 4G/5G home internet in an area where the signal is very weak (can't make phone calls indoors). I need backup internet and I don't really want to buy Starlink.

Correct your priors: Private money is going after clean energy, governments are using public money to prop up fossil fuels "About 59% of all money spent on the fossil fuel system came from taxpayers in 2015. By 2025, that climbed to 68% and spiked at 78% in 2022." www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

Of course unions look out for their members but it defies belief that they chose *this week* to lobby for more North Sea oil drilling. They should be lobbying for super-generous retraining terms.

Grid are expensive because they are built at scale. By all means have both, but understand that distributed solar is not a replacement for the grid, simply an optimisation. FWIW 50% of my electricity still comes (overnight) from the grid and that will increase as I move more load to heat-pumps.

💰 Distributed solar was CHEAPER... Residential solar with a medium battery makes electricity at HALF the cost as grid electricity

Solid piece of empirical research out of NIC-D today. Turns out graphs > vectors for building agentic systems, and sometimes raw LLMs > vectors (interesting). Graphs make agents both cheaper and better which is quite an unusual result. Read more: neo4j.com/whitepapers/...
