The Senators will announce this soon and Elliotte Friedman has also reported this.. But I can confirm Xavier Bourgault has signed a one-year deal with an $850k AAV. It’s a two-way deal that will pay him $265k in the American League.

GM Steve Staios on signing Claude Giroux: “Claude took his time to evaluate his options and his decision to re-sign with us shows his belief and commitment to our group…He is the consummate professional and brings veteran experience to our core on an off the ice.” #Sens

All signs are pointing towards Claude Giroux returning to Ottawa, as Elliotte Friedman first reported. Losing Tkachuk and Giroux in the same offseason might’ve been too tough of a gut punch. But Giroux looks to be staying I’d be surprised if we got official word tonight of his return. So we wait.

Claude Giroux hasn't yet made up his mind on where he'll play next season, per a source close to him. Ottawa and Philadelphia have expressed interest in the 38-year-old. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear if other teams have continued pursuing him. Things move fast, so we'll see.
