The next Dem president really should just void every executive order and tariff issued by Trump on day one, if for nothing else to put all the media hand wringing into one news cycle instead of the drip drip of doing them on batches.
There are many worse things about Trump, but one of the longer lasting impacts is going to be the expectation that political parties be lockstep in opinion (and that it’ll be headline news when they’re not) because of the way the maga cult parrots whatever he says.

I do find it interesting that what a random streamer says is headline news but the president of the United States can say vulgar, racist things on the regular and it doesn’t get any coverage.
I wonder if there will be any analysis along the lines of “Trump-backed candidate barely ekes out a win in Senate race in warning sign his political influence is waning”
The family annihilator analogy really does fit Trump because for all the times he pulls out a gun and doesn’t use it, it only takes one time where he pulls the trigger to end everything.

I have to assume that part of the massive freakout by the GOP over Harp is that most of them went on record about her and Trump for books that were only supposed to come out once Trump was dead.
I think a lot of the problem with US legacy media is they see themselves as play-by-play announcers rather than color commentators.
