i just reached my home town. I’m breathing fumes in and fumes out. ashes are falling out of the sky. the only thing i’m feeling is rage, against policymakers, and against myself for not doing just a bit more with my time and energy. it’s time to transform this rage into action.

waiting for my plane to come back home. my home is hell right now. seeing the list of cities being evacuated due to the wildfires. thinking about how to best help tomorrow.

One of my 2026 resolutions was to add A FEW plants to my home and learn A BIT about that new hobby. I failed.

This is what I’m doing when I’m not working hard to make homes smarter. It’s a pretty cool hobby. Lots of problem solving.

I have a confession to make: I struggle counting on my fingers. Also I never understood the UX of setting a delayed end on a washing machine. So anyway, I made a washing machine companion that pulls the next off-peak period at home and tells me what to do using @home-assistant.io

Who would be interested in a walkthrough of how I created reminders that get triggered at certain times, but also when I arrive or leave home?

I like to do these small tests internally but let’s try here too ☺️
Here is a small part of my dashboard.
What info can you tell me based on these 3 cards?
BTW: the names of the cards are “first floor”, “second floor” and “garden”

Anyone heavily tattooed using an Apple Watch? I’m just starting to use one and in the first hour of use I had to enter my passcode about 60 times. I’m guessing the watch struggles to recognize tattoos.

Yesterday during my bouldering session: “Hey you look super focused, what are you listening to?” What do you mean what I’m listening, it’s bouldering, there is only one good answer… Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse OST 🤣
