I’ve been playing Mage: The Ascension and this guy is Iteration X all the way.

Very angry nerd. Texas based. All opinions my own, and I stand by them usually.

2 months later, and internet access is restored at work.
RIP to Watler Jr. Reminder that Ken Paxton was impeached for trying to fuck over Mitte's charity foundation.
This is incredibly sad. I once interviewed RJ Mitte on the Southbank and he was very friendly and joyful on a sunny day by the river. He leaves a legacy of disability representation on the screen; something that is far from easy to achieve and still too rare. www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...
God help me, I emailed the UA alumni association for Austin.
It was almost certainly back to Sunny Day Real Estate, after a detour into 60s & 70s rock for a while.
Name your fav band/artist when you were 18.

I know I’m far from the first to point it out but the party of “just don’t watch the public execution” is the party banning books about penguins.
BRENNAN: Nidal Hasan is in a wheelchair. Doesn't the administration risk livestreaming this and making him a martyr? Couldn't this be a risk to the homeland? MARKWAYNE MULLIN: No one has to watch it B: Well then why are you livestreaming it? MULLIN: The president is restoring American values
Likely horror movie marathon with the 12 year old tonight. Last night was Night of the Living Dead. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a few weeks ago. Obviously, I’m trying for some of the classics, so tonight, what do we think: -Creepshow -An American Werewolf in London -Original Nightmare on Elm Street
Going to do my best to make it to this! We bought a print at STAPLE a few months back, and chatted a little and left with a great impression. Also this reminded to buy the hardcover!
Austin, TX signing today at 4PM @ Austin Books & Comics!
This is ridiculous and we should make fun of it but there’s some doofus out there who’s like “lol, got ‘em”. The kind of person who’s still mad they can’t call people the f-slur. That said, I would also buy the T-shirt version if it’s 100% cotton and union made.
New America PAC mailer just dropped and I regret to report that I want the tshirt version
Any engineer who’s been employed for a while knows that the lower tech solutions are sometimes the better one. Implement a computer vision system or make an overlay and train operators? Brute force numerical solutions or code in a language nobody knows?
I remember my brother condescendingly sniffing “well, people didn’t understand the internet when it first came out, either” when I told him that NFTs sounded like a scam.
Y’know a few years ago, there were ads telling you if you didn’t “invest” in NFTs you’d die in penury. Just saw an ad for PNC which compared buying NFTs to not leaving Pompeii or using leeches to cure a sore theoat. Daily Schadenfreude: Achieved.
Next platelet donation is likely this Sunday, October 11. If anyone wants to donate blood in solidarity.
I really like Eric Shi’s bluegrass covers generally, but his cover of George Strait’s cover of Amarillo By Morning is pretty great.

This may have been one of the nicer looking meals that I’ve cooked recently.
I’m not much one to criticize other people’s looks but these guys all look like melted candles.

This is a great idea. I’ll also add the low quality of the cut scenes in Alien Isolation are what make them so effective.
they should make a resident evil game that's entirely cruddy camcorder found footage
It’s a relatively minor thing, but changing “Equipments” to “Equipment” every time I use this doc template irks me.
Got a close look at one of the signs. Prop I is indeed a Save Austin Now thing, which means I will be voting “no”.
Austinites-Prop I (the independent audit one) is a Save Austin Now thing, right? It kind of seems like that.
So many graduate school late nights reading the Brick Bible (then the Brick Testament).
On this day 25 years ago The Brick Bible first launched. To celebrate that huge milestone, I've illustrated the first new content in 7 years with the most fan-requested Bible story ever!
Me: I just think it’s funny that when I’ve heard El Pasoans describe their preferred taco style, it sounds gloppy. But Old El Paso brand makes like hard taco shells. What’s up with that? Doctor: No, I meant questions about the test results.
Well, I was going to come in early because 12 year old had early orchestra practice. And my plan was to get more of this report done. Orchestra teacher was sick, practice was canceled, and data transfer to Azure is fucking with all my Microsoft Office apps. Not sure why I try anymore.
So is it a mistake to take the kids out for dinner on this last drizzly night of ACL?
“How did you get into TTRPGs?” Well, I was in a tavern…
"How did you get into ttrpgs" Satan, of course. It was the late 80s, after all.
