yeah, that's great...but I also have to take my levothyroxine on an empty stomach, and PPI's ideally as well I'll live with a ferritin of 22, it's the best I can do, and no, I don't need another colonoscopy or a capsule, nor am I going to start eating a lot more meat 22 is way better than 8

My experiment to raise my ferritin in two months was not only a huge success, but massively life-changing. The current “normal” range for #ferritin is failing women and the chronically ill. We need to make changes to diagnostic testing now. #medsky #hematology #labmedicine #chronicillness #spoonie

Please no. If someone did something egregious, ok to review and fine/suspend after the game, but during the game, it should be the ref's call without external tech. Part of sports is dealing with bad/missed calls. It's a human endeavor. Humans playing, humans officiating

The WNBA will have a replay center similar to the NBA next season as the league continues to invest in officiating, Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced at her state of the league press conference before the All-Star Game.

Coffee ride supposed to be a metric, ended up doing an imperial 100m then a 3 mile dog walk Oh, and wife did track 1K repeats coached by my daughter who was on a rest day so did an easy 4 @ 7:30 World cup and beer tonight This is only normal with serious selection bias, but it has been a great day

I ran with my dogs this morning for 5 miles while my wife and kids walked a mile. Then we had breakfast, avocado toast and fruit. Later we're going to swim and cook dinner on the Blackstone. Ya know. Normal ass stuff

I'm sure I have thoughts and engagement, might learn something or contribute something, but.... since I don't have a subscription, I just consider this advertising Link the articles without a paywall if you're actually interesting in the advancement and dissemination of medical information

A 47-year-old man with heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction and an ICD for the primary prevention of sudden cardiac death presented with an unheralded syncopal event, which had been captured by video surveillance at work. Read the full case details: https://nej.md/4w1yfJM

A still from a surveillance video where the patient collapses during work. To the right, there are three medical electrocardiogram (ECG) charts. These images are from an Images in Clinical Medicine article titled "Unheralded Syncope from Ventricular Arrhythmia."

My daughter made kale pizza the other night, and my wife came home and saw it and immediately broke into tears (ok, there were other things going on too, and the pizza was actually excellent, but true story) #nokale

I will say it again: You are not my “peer” if your whole job is using a non-evidence-based algorithm to deny necessary care to my patients. My actual peers are not in the service of bloodless ghouls.

Sometimes as an NYT books columnist you find yourself quoted in the Atlantic by Helen Lewis, who believes two odd things: 1. That nobody is reading Pratchett anymore (instead of all the time, as they should), and 2. That Pratchett’s politics are hard to pin down, and Reg Shoe is not a fucking hero.
