Getting in one more new $1 vinyl find for the evening! Michael Tippett - 4 Piano Sonatas Paul Crossley, piano

#nowspinning Joachim Raff Symphony No. 3 "Im Walde" Ode to Spring (featuring Michael Ponti on Piano) Hamburg Symphony Richard Kapp, conductor Another $1 vinyl find. I love discovering "forgotten" composers!
Flyers don't deserve to be up 2 after the first period, but I'll take it! Glad to see them come to life after a pretty sloppy first half
WOOOOO!!! Done! They were SO good tonight with a depleted lineup 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤
Jerome@jmszpila.bsky.social · last wk.The Flyers... Might.... Beat the Avs?!?!?! 🤞🙏
#nowspinning - another $1 classical album Ferdinand Hiller - Concerto for Piano and Orchestra Joachim Raff - Concerto for Piano and Orchestra Michael Ponti, piano Hamburg Symphony Richard Kapp, conductor
#Flyers need to fire Rick Tocchet I almost never call for a coach to be fired in any sport. But he needs to go.
I took today off, and that was much needed. I've been so busy even on the weekends that I was starting to run on fumes. I'm #nowspinning this $1 album: Quartet Music of the 17th and 18th Centuries performed by The Stuyvesant String Quartet Works by: Tartini Purcell Dittersdorf Haydn
Bruce was amazing!!!! I hope I get the chance to see him again and that my wife can join
I'm easily one of the ten youngest people at the Bruce Hornsby concert who aren't either 1.) A literal child 2.) Someone clearly here to escort their elderly parents
Jerome@jmszpila.bsky.social · 2w agoKid fell asleep, so things worked out for me to go, but solo. Only doing it because Hornsby is one of my bucket list artists - someone i want to see before they quit touring. Other kids and the wife are having a special school night movie night. Starting to wonder if I need to move back to Philly

Jerome@jmszpila.bsky.social · 2w agoI unfortunately had to cancel my Bruce Hornsby concert plans 😭 One of my kids had an aggressive meltdown and we can't bring a babysitter into that. Nor can one of us just go without the other when things get like this

Tomorrow night my wife and I are going on our first true date night in a looong time to see Bruce Hornsby. I can't wait!!! I don't even care that I'll be missing the Flyers. But if they finally win, someone needs to start paying me to go to a concert every time the Flyers play
#nowspinning Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade Philadelphia Orchestra Eugene Ormandy, conductor Another $1 find, a classic I did not have yet in my collection. I only have room for about 450 records in my current setup so I have to make tough choices. I hope to add more room soon
#nowspinning Franck - Symphony in D Minor Chicago Symphony Orchestra Pierre Monteux, conductor This was a dollar album!
In 2027, the #Flyers need to have everyone have the same summer that Michkov just had. This is embarrassing
#nowspinning Shostakovich - Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra Piano Sonata No. 2 Annie d'Arco, Piano Maurice Andre, Trumpet Jean-Françoois Paillard (conductor) Chamber Orchestra The last of my free classical albums that I picked up last month. $1 ones are next!
#nowspinning Alfred Deller sings Elizabethan and Jacobean Music Another free vinyl. I enjoy Deller's stuff with his group, but I'm not sure I'll enjoy his solo singing. I like music from this period (late Renaissance) but for some reason I'm not a huge fan of classical style solo singing.
#nowspinning Music at the Time of the Crusades By the Florilegium Musicum of Paris Another free vinyl, and it's my kind of music. I wish they had used a different reference to place this music in it's time in history, but it was produced in the 70s 🤷
#Flyers look good. If the game was better called, we might be tied. Encouraging!
#nowspinning I'm in the middle of a very busy season of life, but tonight I can rest for a little and dig back into my free classical vinyls. I have time for this tonight: Shostakovich Quartet #3 Prokofiev Quartet #1 By the Smetana Quartet
It's my fault. I caused the Philly sports curse. I bought a month of YouTube TV to watch the MLB playoffs, the Flyers home opener, and a handful of Eagles games. The teams I root for (Philly + Astros) have gone 1-9 since
After everything went right on Sunday for my 2 baseball teams... - Astros drop 2 - Phillies look like they are losing this series - Eagles lose - Flyers get decimated by the Penguins (I hate them) and get OT loss vs the Devils (I hate them) I need a sports break (and I'll get one tomorrow)
