Proud 🇨🇦 maritimer and humanitarian; CEO ICVAnetwork.org 🇨🇭 previously based in 🇽🇰🇰🇪🇵🇰🇦🇫🇵🇭🇹🇭🇲🇲🇧🇩🇮🇶 I have two decades of experience in international aid programming, strategic development, NGO coordination, & policy formation

Insecurity and climate crises push thousands to the edge in #BurkinaFaso. Aid efforts are maxed out and communities overwhelmed. I’ve allocated $5.9M from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund for humanitarian partners to deliver food, shelter, health and protection.

The U.S. veto today at the UNSC is a shameful abuse of power. Calling the resolution “divorced from reality” is itself a despicable distortion of reality. What’s truly divorced is the U.S. position from the suffering of civilians. This is not leadership. It’s complicity. #Gaza #UNSC #CeasefireNow

Open all of the crossings. Let in lifesaving aid at scale, from all directions. Lift restrictions on what & how much aid we can bring in. Ensure our convoys aren’t held up by delays and denials. Release the hostages. Implement the ceasefire. Let us work.

Watching the US admin fumble classified war plans like a drunk losing their keys is one thing, but let’s be real - half of them couldn’t find Canada on a map if we circled it in red. Maybe that’s for the best. #PeteHegseth, Stephen Miller & lil #JDVance frat boy wannabes who’d flop at band camp too

While the world focuses on Gaza, the occupied #WestBank faces unprecedented violence, displacement & rising humanitarian needs. Destruction in #JeninCamp forces more families from their homes. These demolitions must stop. Systematic destruction violates IHL & can't be normalized.

“A deepening humanitarian crisis in the #WestBank with homes and other civilian infrastructure systematically destroyed. Tens of thousands of #PalestineRefugees are at risk of renewed long-term displacement with #Jenin Camp permanently altered.” — UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini

"My name is Mahmoud Khalil and I am a political prisoner. I am writing to you from a detention facility in Louisiana where I wake to cold mornings and spend long days bearing witness to the quiet injustices underway against a great many people precluded from the protections of the law."

'Sudan’s children are trapped in one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. I returned last week from a country where conflict, displacement, and hunger are destroying young lives." UNICEF's Lucia Elmi briefs on the situation in for children in #Sudan www.unicef.org/press-releas...

Hammarskjöld said, “The UN was not created to take mankind to heaven, but to save humanity from hell.” In 2025, the Security Council is incapable of even that. Wars rage, ppl starve & atrocities go unanswered. Is the mandate not peace & security? The world burns while the Council debates. Pathetic.

I have no doubt that @chrislockyear.msf.org could have spoken for hours about the horrific crimes of war in Sudan. But the real question is - what will the #UNSC do? They’ve mastered the art of listening, but where is the action on Peace and Security?

Tim Shenk@tim.doctorswithoutborders.org · last yr.

The war in Sudan is a catastrophic "war on people," @doctorswithoutborders.org Secretary General Christopher Lockyear tells the UN Security Council, calling for an end to violence against civilians and a new commitment to deliver lifesaving aid: www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/msf-b...

Genuine question: How many eggs do Americans eat for egg prices to be a bigger crisis than consumer protection disappearing, federal employees being fired without notice and humanitarian aid getting cut?

Tomorrow marks two months since my dad passed away. I miss him every day and still find myself talking to him - sometimes out loud, sometimes just in my head. His presence is still with me in so many ways, but the silence where his voice should be is something I feel deeply.
