We are currently on the road, making a trek, over 5 days by car, from the Southern terminus to the Northern terminus of the Blue Ridge Parkway (North Carolina & Virginia, USA): 469 miles. This was some of our scenery yesterday.

This is a 2-lane road passing through a mountain forest, so there are numerous trees at the sides of the road, most very tall, with leaves in green, yellows, and reds. The sky is a light, clear blue.

This Sunday afternoon I was at the chapel of the US Naval Academy [Annapolis, MD, USA], listening to Isaac play organ in a group recital: 5 members of the Annapolis chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Here he is at the console, checking his presets beforehand. Yes, it's a large instrument.

The focus here is on the man in the black suit seated at a large organ console: 5 manuals and a gazillion stops on pull knobs. The console is on a raised area reached by three steps below. Rows of dark-wood pews are visible both sides of the central aisle, which has blue carpeting.
Another man in a dark syit sirs at left in the front pew listening; he's another of the performers.
Beting the console, churchy things are visvisvisible: an icoicon at left, a stained-glass above, a cross, an American flag.

One of my favorite portraits: When I was working at UMd on the Zeno project, this is Matt, one of our grad-students, showing us the tools he was using to work on our ready-for-space microKelvin thermostat. The black cylinder in front of him with the tubing coiled around it is the outer shell...

Set in an experimental physics lab, we see a young man holding up some freezers and a spool of white thread. He has brown hair and beard, and large frame brown glasses.
He looks directly into my camera. He wears a red plaid shirt under a blue puffy vest.
Out of focus around him are various inscrutable instruments of physics activity.

By now, you probably know it's true, but I consider this fair warning if you didn't. At the [Canadian] Niagara Falls gift shop, for some reason. Alas, I didn't buy the T-shirt, which is why we took the picture. 28 Oct 2022

Here is an older man with silvery hair and beard in relative disarray. He's wearing a purple-checked shirt, and a dark-red, fleece-lined jacket over it. He also wears roundish glasses.
He holds in front of him an olive-colored T-shirt in front of him on which is printed: "WARNING: May start talking about Science".
On the left in back is a white wall. On the right is a large window.
