Light rain mostly overnight. I’ve been watering selected garden and container plants most days since early July. They’d be dead otherwise. Just the bird bath to do today. Most of my planting is for wildlife so I don’t begrudge the work, but rain is what’s really needed.

Something different from all the wonderful #eclipse photos and videos. Took a sequence of photos in the garden during the partial eclipse of the sun yesterday. The difference in light levels over 45 minutes is noticeable.
A fire in nearby woodland thankfully put out by the fire brigade. Worrying seeing all the smoke. Hope there’s not too much damage to the trees. The wood is part of the Mersey Forest, and adjacent to homes. Scary times.
