Everyone is different, but in the name of retrospective narratives on “i sent my kid(s) to our failing public school and look what happened” we had an entirely different experience. (How it started article, for reference) www.indianapolismonthly.com/news-and-opi...

Me as we’re heading inside: “and shh, be quiet when you’re in there. Mom is taking a nap” 6yo puts on tap shoes

Perfect storm of a busy morning today, here at the Kids 5k at Lucas Oil. 1900 kids here at the race (2 of them mine). Then hurrying over to lead Code Club (Coderdojo). Then leaving there coaching our NESA team in soccer (at least the second half 😩)

Taking middle 2 kids to the Indy Jam (parkour) on the lawn at Fesler Hall 🤸🤸‍♂️🏢

I guess we weren’t meant to be

For valentines day a valentine pseudocode poem that can also be turned into code and executed (or even verified to meet a romantic specification using logic) cs4fn.blog/2026/01/21/p...

Monday I (41) was playing half court 3v3 at the ymca. We won our game and thus stayed on for the next. Suddenly 2 players joined our team. 5 new players came in to challenge, and I found myself forced into my first full court game since 2003. Today (Thursday), I am still very very sore.

Read most of draft 1.0.0 of book 3 of my series to the 13 & 11yo last night. Pretty encouraged. They hated the wondrous scene (just short of booing… which they have done before) so need to redo that. But big laughs and tears for the other chapters. Parts I wasn’t feeling they were a LOT. Good stuff

So something that’s kind of interesting about this, as an Indy (600k reg voters) resident is that I’m now gerry-cousins with a bunch of these red counties with 5-20k voters. Yeah they’re trying to dilute our votes but now we have 4 reps who need to court us to build a sizable coalition

Hey @govpritzker.illinois.gov it's your time to shine. Let's make sure Indiana knows they can't get away with this. We need to act ASAP. SCOTUS has already approved this tactic. Use it. Protect democracy. Don't unilaterally disarm.

I just discovered the 0s trick in multiplication applies across all baseN (at least that I’ve found) so 100x100 in hex/base16 = 10000. 256x256=65,536 and 65536 in hex is 10000. 3600x6? Thats easy in base 60 (how we measure time): 6:0:0

Just explained to a friend my semantic versioning and branching strategy with my story drafts
