I wanted to hear @joeyneilsen.bsky.social 's joke about the Sirens, but I also know it would likely be dangerous, so now I'm in a bind.

I have a joke about Medusa but it’s really just a reflection of the audience
A number of TV hits have featured not-so-good-guys as their protagonists (think The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Succession, Pluribus). Some critics argue that these shows glorify violence, cruelty, and selfishness. In this vlog, I will argue that what have you ever done? Where's your TV show? Huh? Well?

Why do you want to see the sky? We can see the air just fine... (This message brought to you by wildfire smoke)
You may have heard that people struck by lightning can be blown out of their shoes? Welp, when my 8 y/o got to walk the dog in the park, she ran so hard that she pulled him out of his shoes! (He’s fine if a little surprised and a little the worse for wear).
If you look VERY carefully, you might be able to spot two exquisitely hidden bunnies dozing in the grass on a hot summer evening.
Don't... don't all companies need revenue? I thought this was a known problem if you don't want your business to go under.
Got bit by an animal and became that animal

My wife and are celebrating our 18th anniversary soon, and we've decided that 18 is not the porcelain anniversary but the "ductless mini split" anniversary.
Cooling uses less energy than heating per pretty much every metric I’ve looked at, and I have looked at many of them. For example: hannahritchie.github.io/energy-use-c...
Going out on a limb, I think the moral of this story is Happy Pride... Happy Pride everyone! 🏳️🌈
A guy drives up slowly in an old silver pickup truck, dragging some boards into a nearby tree. He leans out the window. Guy: "My dad says this truck makes me look flamboyant. *pause* But then how does he explain THIS?!?!?" He throws a large handful of flower petals out the window and drives away.

Ok... I made it to page 3: financials summary. Bottom line: They are running at a loss. In Q1 2026, they lost ~$2 billion. Assuming that is consistent for the year, they will lose about ~$8 billion. NASA SMD budget is $7.25 billion in FY26. SpaceX will run into the red more than NASA SMD has.
I got lots of different answers, but this one really came out of left field.

Two times of note when my dog eats: 1. When we are eating. (If she's hungry, she will sometimes stamp and paw at us until someone agrees to have breakfast). 2. When there was an animal outside. She'll race between the windows woofing, then eat. I assume this is "you're not getting my food."
Anyone know anything about the IOP publishing office? I requested an amended invoice for an ApJ letter about a month ago and the invoice and accounts receivable email addresses haven't replied to my follow-ups... 🔭
