Most people think 2026 = next 2 years. But whoever controls state legislatures after the 2030 census draws the maps that shape representation for the entire next decade. The NDRC is playing the long game in the fight for fair maps.

Redistricting reform isn't one election or one lawsuit. It's recruiting candidates. Winning state legislatures. Passing ballot initiatives. Defending legal challenges. All before a single map is drawn. NDRC has been doing this work for years. We're not stopping now.

Congress goes on recess in August, and your representatives head home. But thanks to gerrymandering, most of them represent safe seats. That means they don't have to worry much about what you think. Safe seats → low accountability. That's exactly what fair maps are designed to fix.

The 2026 midterms are about 3 months away. Every House seat. Every map. Every margin. NDRC is backing candidates who believe in fair representation — because rigged districts shouldn't decide who runs this country.

Gerrymandering 101: Politicians draw their own district lines, choosing their voters before voters choose them. That's why a state can be split 50-50 politically but represented 70-30 in Congress. It's not a bug. It's the design.

Every House seat is up in November. The maps deciding who wins were drawn by politicians — often specifically to guarantee one party's grip on power. This is the election where we fight to take those maps back.

Let's be clear: Trump’s election lies are a shoddy cover for trying to subvert the 2026 midterms. Scared of facing accountability from Americans who are tired of his failures, he's escalating his attempts to corrupt the electoral process.

The only 2 logical logical explanations for Red Sox currently are: 1. The World Cup changed everything in Boston. #vibeshift - OR - 2. We are actively playing out the live action plot of Major League (1989). Chapman is clearly Wild Thing Vaughn…

Donald Trump has essentially admitted he can’t win a fair vote. But instead of changing his agenda, he’s doing everything in his power to overhaul the midterms. We’ve never seen this kind of shameless corruption.

One year ago, Trump called up Gov. Abbott in Texas and ordered a gerrymandered congressional map, kicking off 12 months of pure redistricting chaos. The candidates who win this fall will decide how their state moves forward amidst the redistricting crisis. Winning these races is a massive part of our strategy to build power to prevent more gerrymanders. Check out the candidates we’re supporting: democraticredistricting.com/democracy-de...

The thing politicians in safe districts fear most isn't losing. It's having to compete. Fair maps create accountability. Accountability creates responsive government. Simple as that.

The 2026 midterm maps are drawn. But fair representation is still worth fighting for. There are competitive districts across the country where your voice can make the difference. Who's running for Congress in your district? Do they support fair maps?

Courts across the country are getting away with tossing out the will of the voters. If we want to stop this assault on democracy, we need to elect judges who will actually defend fair representation.

Here's the stakes, in two numbers: analysts project Republicans could net up to 16 House seats this fall from redrawn maps alone. Democrats are positioned to net about 6. 🧵

I want to be clear, Republicans in Georgia didn’t have a democratic awakening - they saw results last night, saw the enthusiasm on the ground from YOU ALL & realized the redraw plan was insane. Instead, they likely plan to sneakily try this again in lame duck.. don’t be fooled.

I can personally confirm, first hand, that the Scots have taken over Boston and brought only happiness and joy. The bars… for sure, but we’ve also seen folks at breakfast, at the playgrounds with kids. It’s a jolt of fun everyone needed! What a gift this World Cup is!

Georgia is about to redraw its congressional map again — this time aimed at 2028. If you want to know the moment something changes in your state, sign up for our redistricting alerts by texting DEMOCRACY to 36787. We'll do the digging; you stay informed.
