I was an absolute devotee of But First This on the BBC, but it blows my mind now to find out I could have got into Stingray a full five years earlier! Sam Shore aside, this couldn't look any more 1987, could it? Easy to forget the bomber jacket with badges look wasn't unique to Ace in Doctor Who.

Football is a dirty game. It's one thing to see this stuff when I go and watch my local non-league team, but blatant, calculated fouls like this should be unacceptable at the top level, not par for the course. 30 mins in and we should have had multiple red cards already. It's a dirty sport.
I've said it before, but Murray retired when he started making howlers like this so often.

Apparently We Are The Pipettes was released twenty years ago today, which means twenty years of wasted kisses, shapes pulled and minds dirtied. Every track a work of pure pop genius, every dance move absolutely iconic, and every polka dot a Pavlovian trigger. What a band!
But the main event. The main man. It's JFM: Johnny Fuckin Marr. Utterly triumphant hometown show, with abundant Smiths songs, solo songs that held their own and the crowd clearly recognised, and enough Manchester flag-waving to make it proper (but thankfully not too much}.
Everything Everything never said why they were wearing black armbands. In honour of Bonnie Tyler, presumably. They didn't do a cover of Total Eclipse of the Heart though, the cowards.
It's so charming seeing whiteboy support acts these days. "This is a perfectly competent and palatable version of music I was listening to when you were in infants" sounds like a terrible slam, but it really isn't! Or at least, I don't mean it to be.
There's a lot of bollocks on here about how hot weather in summer Just Didn't Used To Happen in the UK. No. Being able to go out and not take a jumper with you in June or July is not novel. More frequent, sure. But a new thing? Come off it.
I've always really liked ITV's latest visual identity, which I think has held up well and was very successfully refreshed a few years back. These things get replaced periodically, but it probably depends what they want to do with the ITV brand as a whole.

Great glimpse of early 2000s F1: smaller, nimble cars! Noisy engines! Pure racing! And it's rubbish. No competitive overtakes in the dry - they simply can't do it. Only made slightly interesting by rain. This is why modern F1 is so much better. youtu.be/ix21M4CYmvQ?...

Blimey. Questions for the grand prix organisers this weekend - pit lane speed sensors, and track surface. Still... ten laps left is enough to give a race if there's a restart. Even bigger questions to answer if there isn't. #F1
