Hey, everyone. This is Johnnie Electronic, but you can call me John, and welcome to my Bluesky account. My YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbqlhIvzBJzi7Uk3cMN8tWg

This one was inspired by Harry Gold's "What if characters looked like their original sprites?", I actually tried that with Yuka Takeuchi from Variable Geo. Since the one from the original PC-98 game has that "So bad it's good" kind of graphics.

Just decided to "remix" the score music from Mario & Wario on the SNES to sort of give that "Looney Tunes-esque" vibes, but it doesn't sound like it was ripped straight from Looney Tunes, but hey, at least I kinda got the intro and the ending sequence right.

I remember when one person asked me on Discord if I have any plans to make art commissions, and I'm like "Uh... Yeah... Sure...". It was at that moment, where I knew I will fuck it up, and that was 2 years ago. So I decided "Why not just make your Ko-Fi account along with your PayPal account?".

I guess I remember this one, This one is called "Touhou Mania". Which is a reference to Mickey Mania and Sonic Mania, All I did was straight up edit ZUN's original sprites from Touhou 4 & 5 to look clean and modern, much like how the Sonic Mania sprites were edited from the Classic Sonic games.

The original PC-98 sprites (Left) and the Touhou Mania sprites (Right).

Here's what I usually do with the cleanup in Tahoma2D: I use bunch of contours (Arcs) to add a lineart, add blue lines for the shading, and if I want to add a highlight, I can use the red lines for the highlight. After that, I can color it, and then I can add anti-aliasing for the rendering.

Good news: The third scene is finally animated... Partially... Yeah, in order to finalize the animation, you need to add a lineart, the coloring, the shading (Optional), etc., to make the animation look clean and polished. And I guess the animation here doesn't look so bad... I kinda like it...

Now THIS is something that I remember: The large Eggman redraw. You see, the user who goes by the name of "Iron-Dude" on DeviantArt (The worst site I've ever experienced) made an evolution of Dr. Eggman from the Sonic series, and I noticed the sprites from those posts were made with bunch of mixels.

Ah yes, here comes the hardest part: Drawing the Dictator and the Claw from Street Fighter. When I included them in the concept art and the script, I thought to myself "Are they gonna be harder to draw, since I've never drew them before?", and then... Yeah, I can see why I had to use references...

A rough sketch/Nigen of the Dictator & the Claw from Street Fighter.A finalized sketch/Genga & Douga of the Dictator & the Claw from Street Fighter.

Ya know... Now that every games are getting decompiled, I can imagine the old Street Fighter and SNK games getting decompiled... Including Street Fighter 1 from 1987... That would be very neat if it had a mod that has better gameplay, graphics and sounds.

I remember drawing Flo Hart from Diner Dash on paper at the English Course, because I started knowing who this character was a little bit. So I thought of drawing her again 2 years later, and honestly, I think I did an okay job at drawing her.

Do you know what's funny? Is that even though I was born in 2005, I always like how SpongeBob and Patrick look in the 1997 Pilot and Season 1, which is why there are most cases where I draw them with their Pilot or Season 1 designs, or just combine those into my version of SpongeBob and Patrick.

I'm gonna start animating the third scene for my animated short, since I've already animated the 1st 2 scenes weeks ago. I think when it's done, I can finally upload it to YouTube and put my data folder inside of my case enclosure, and then I can buy a new one... Damn, they're fucking expensive.

Okay... This one took days to animate the second scene in Tahoma2d, but hey, at least it doesn't look that bad for a limited animation... Aside from my weird voice direction, which is alright. 'guess i'll have to animate the third scene and then i can finalize all of the scenes.

2 years ago, I was making my very first Azumanga Daioh fanart digitally while using the image on the right as a reference. I didn't know where the image came from since I couldn't take some research at the time, only to find out that the image I used came from the American ADV DVD booklet this year.

An old drawing of Osaka made in October 18th, 2024.A model sheet of Osaka from the American Azumanga Daioh ADV DVD Booklet.

I remember when I was learning how to draw Peter Griffin's season 1 design by using the model sheets I found on the Ebay listings as references, most of them are still there, but others are erased from existence... I wonder if someone out there bought and scanned those model sheets online...

Drawing Teen Goku can be less complex than drawing Goku from the later sagas, but it's also a bit harder than drawing Kid Goku from the earlier 1986 Dragon Ball episodes. And since Kid and Teen Gokus are my favorite designs, I guess I'll have to go for his classic red gi instead of his orange gi.

I remember when I was drawing Roll for the very first time, and the first thing I drew was Roll's classic design with her MegaMan 8 dress... Sort of like "what if" Roll kept her classic appearance while wearing this dress in MegaMan 8.

I remember when I was drawing Vegeta for my animation, I couldn't get his design right at first. Since that was my first time drawing him. When i looked at the images of Vegeta, I was like "Wait a fucking minute, that's how Vegeta is supposed to look?". I later finalized him to be more "on-model".

First attempt (Nigen)Second attempt (Genga/Douga)A screenshot of Vegeta from the Saiyan Saga of Dragon Ball Z.A model sheet of Vegeta from the Saiyan Saga of Dragon Ball Z.

I was searching for the images from Sonic Adventure 2 as references, and it took a while to find the artwork without Shadow and the Chaos in high quality, I saw the HQ artwork on the left on the Nintendo Official Magazine from UK, and let's be real here... That was a great find.

Man... Idk how long it took to animate the first scene in a Genga & Douga style, but at least the animation I did here looks... Alright, it sort of reminds me of how it was animated in the 90s saturday morning cartoons, I tried my best to keep Mario & Sonic on-model by the way.
