A Cabbage of a Man. Making my own comic! 🌀GREENHORN🌀 [COMMISSION OPEN! *DM for Sheet] 🚫 No GenAI or LLM will be tolerated 🚫

I'm starting to get the appeal of team-based PvP shooters. I've been playing Marvel Rivals and my mind has never been so still, like calmed waters. Wish that could happen with something that isn't so extrinsically motivated, though.

I felt like progress of the comic I'm writing has been light and largely neglected. After moving files to my new computer and putting all the loose notes into one text document, though, turns out that I have about 5k+ words or fourteen pages. Still needs more, but it's a good morale boost.

Knights of Guinevere is one of the first series I've seen that makes me believe that this could only exist as an indie project. There is absolutely no way in hell this would have been greenlit by any big studio, and that's why it needs to exist in this way. I am very excited to see this play out.

The digital equivalent of a father taking their kid out on a hunting trip and the child is horrified by the prospect of taking a shot at a beautiful creature. "I didn't raise no namby-pamby PokĂŠmon Ranger! Now faint that Rattatta and get that +1 Speed EV yield!"

my buddy introduced his four-year-old twins to pokemon via Pokopia and Concierge and now when he tries to expose them to more traditional pokemon stuff they get VERY upset by the idea of battling. they were not forged in the cauldron of pokemon violence as we once were

The Muppets among others are one of those things where they are very easy to write the moment you treat the Hero's Journey as it is-- an observation made by some guy about the overlapping themes of a very particular type of story-- instead of the writing equivalent of the ten commandments.

There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘THE MUPPET SHOW’ series revival. Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures are having difficulties with deciding on a premise for a series that they all can agree on. (via deadline.com/2026/09/the-...)

Super Metroid was very important for me to play as a teenager who previously only played platformers designed for ease of use and snappy responses. I needed to learn that designing for games also means that you can make a wall jump and speed boost difficult to do on purpose. It's about mastery.

The embroidery on the kid's cap is a little sharp, but otherwise I like how embellished all of the costuming is. It's a direction that's very unlike what I'd expect from a Nintendo remake. Usually it's more like having every texture look like fondant icing on a racecar-themed birthday cake.

Finished Rayman Origins again after 10+ years. Returning to it after that long and with fresh eyes really did make it clear as day that there was a story here that was noticeably gutted. It has great design and feels wonderful to play, though it makes me wonder what it could have been...

QTP with a game released in the year you were born. [One of my earliest memories was me thinking that their speech bubbles were showing garbled symbols as a stylistic choice. The reality of it was that it just english, I was 3 years old, and I didn't know how to read yet.]

QTP with a game released in the year you were born. (My very first Sonic game~)

I'll stand behind this design because it plays really well with Kingdom Hearts using Disney and Final Fantasy characters as a visual metaphor for growing up and that transition in media and tastes of a child to teenager. Even if he doesn't wear it, Sora is a child at heart.

When I open up some music software and start learning how to make a song, it feels exactly as drawing was for me as a kid. I remember drawing Kirby characters and being utterly gobsmacked that I somehow drew a King Dedede that looked as he did in my mind. I will feel the same with music, one day.

Once in a while, in my fear that the long-term negative effects of slop in children's media is irreversible, my kid brother asks me about Pikuniku, Bluey and Wallace & Grommit years after the time we've watched it. I think the kids will be alright.

I find myself needing to go back to the fundamentals. For some reason in my head I've seen professionalism as synonomous to not having fun with what I do. I thought it was a pill to swallow, but now I'm wondering if I should reclaim the idea of "professional comic artist" and set it to my own terms.

Today I learned that the tendency to procrastinate is a byproduct of perfectionism. This relunctance to act leads to last minute spikes in work. This intense period of time links the idea that creating equates to stress. This mental tie causes reluctance to create due to this. A vicious cycle.

Sitting on finishing the story arc of my Greenhorn comic for a while now, so I wanted to give a bit of an update. Right now I've been writing another comic for submission, which is why I haven't been able to show anything. After that, I'll continue with GH when the other project's processing.📌
