It was a pleasure to meet some remarkable care workers in Dundee today and thank them for the vital work they do. Our Displaced Workers Scheme is delivering up to 45,000 extra hours of care every month, ensuring more people in Scotland can get the care they deserve.
To everyone who received their exam results today, well done! You have done Scotland proud. Your hard work has paid off and we’ve seen a fantastic set of results. I hope you all get the chance to celebrate today.

Scotland’s appearance at the World Cup this year shows exactly what the competition should be all about - the fans. The idea that it could be sold off to private investors is unacceptable and I support UEFA’s action today. FIFA need to abandon these plans now. The World Cup must not be for sale.

Today’s statistics show that NHS long waits are coming down every month for over a year, and I have just announced extra funding to build on that progress. We will keep working to make it easier for you to get the care you need, when you need it.
I am deeply saddened by the death of Sir Ian Wood. Through business, philanthropy and his deep commitment to Aberdeen and the North East, he helped shape Scotland’s economy and improve countless lives. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.

I am sorry to hear that Steve Clarke has stood down as Head Coach of the Scotland men’s team. He has taken the team and the country on an exciting journey to reach the World Cup for the first time in 28 years and he has so much to be proud of. I wish him well for the future. 🏴
