The only regrettable thing with doing studies is if it pops off you're sitting there with a half victory like "thanks, I based it off of something actually good"
Heroic Times is a must watch but most of all for the narrator's voice, I wish I could understand Hungarian just to get the full experience
From: Heroic Times (1984), dir. József Gémes, Pannonia Film Studio
Skeleton warriors are very much taken for granted as an opponent in games but I think a lot about how close Fromsoft gets to the same essence of this sequence with theirs. Makes me happy to see that kind of impact go as far as it has
Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion skeletons in Jason and the Argonauts are amazing even now. He animated the sequence by himself for more than four months -- without computers or even an easy way to check his work. We're looking into how he did it: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/how-ray-ha...
Starting out on a big piece always comes with this weird sense of loneliness that makes it so easy to hesitate or fall off. I think people do feel more connected to the brief and unfinished work especially because it's fleeting in nature vs the more concrete nature of a completed illustration
Think I want to follow in Liu Guo-Song's example and do more vertical comps, but not in the tik-tok way
made a page on ye olde subscription site, check it out if interested!
I would've done so much more Fromsoft fanart in the past but you're kind of forced to have to interpolate details that either aren't fully developed or clearly discernable on the character models and I never feel great about taking artistic liberty like that
Want to see a dev tackle a fake bad game where the whole conceit is an actual functioning game presented like it's broken and unfinished with horrendous voice acting. Jokes write themselves
Brute forcing the same sketch for 3 hours straight I am falling apart man
Pentel I love your Tradio, can you maybe make one that doesn't leak horribly and stain my fingers black every time I use it
I'm gonna be honest I think I'm physiologically designed to be running a butcher shop and my great grandfather would be so mad I was born three generations later
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
Commissions are open for august. See form for detail. Only taking a few because I’m fairly busy. Also can go through vgen if youd like once I update that forms.gle/fpMLYkwCFxr2...

The wristwatch adds 5 years to my appearance but this thing might be the best fidget toy ever invented
Yeah we'll do a 1000 follow special sure, maybe I'll make a video or something
Philosophically speaking the whole boomer ethos is a 50/50 split between "all industry exists to replace my need to give a shit about anything/anyone" and "I have an intrinsic right to kill trespassers for sport." Every headline you read about them slots into one of these
Parents are fed up with friends and relatives giving their kids “personalized” AI-generated storybooks with characters resembling their kids. Apart from data privacy concerns, literacy experts say these garbled and convoluted narratives could be an impediment to learning how to read.
