On Saturday I hosted a game day at Lloyd Center Mall, which is shutting down for good next weekend. The food court is largely abandoned but still has a lot of tables, so I thought it would be fun to hang out and play some games and soak up the mall vibes.

Visited family and got to play Boggle for the first time in like 12 years. (My wife usually warns people not to play with me and I tell her they could play at least once and learn that for themselves.)

I always include designer and artist info (when available) in my reviews, but I don't always do that on Bluesky when sharing my link--in part because not everyone is taggable and in part because of character limits. (I tag whoever is taggable.)

We are renting a Mustang Mach-E for this trip and were surprised by how scratchy the nav system voice is, whether using the built-in or with a phone connected. We even swapped out for another one with the rental company and same thing. Is this a known issue? Why is it so comically bad?

I'm not in San Diego for Comic-Con, but I am in San Diego and we were near the convention center yesterday--it was interesting to see some of the transformations going on over here.

I'm finally reading Wildwood and I find myself thinking "oh, you foolish child, why would you fall for the villain's lies so easily?" And then I look around at the state of our politics and think, ok, yeah, I guess that tracks.

May have a chance to visit for Dana Point Sea Caves in Laguna Beach, and every site I see says “check the tides” and “go at low tides” but then none of them say *how* low the tide needs to be for them to be accessible. One site says “extreme negative tide.”

For all us gamers who can't help leaning hard into the collecting side of the hobby, now you can work on collecting your collection all over again! 😅
