I have a lot of thoughts on AI in game development that I just need to shout into the void somehow, so please bear with me for a second: A big argument for easy game creation tools is that it gives non technical-minded people the ability to create games.

why is every picture of food ai now this is literally the worst use of it i just wanna knoooow what im about to eat maaaaaaan this sucks
Steams discovery queue is such a wasted feature, this shit keeps showing me gambling games and AAA titles that I wouldn't play in a million years. Never thought I'd say this, but I wish there was a more personalized and modern algorithm behind it lol
The Ocarina of Time Remake being supposed to look like Ningyōgeki is cool and all, but why doesn't everything look like this then. The execution is still very, very inconsistent.
What sucks is that outsider art in the gaming space will probably be mostly AI pretty soon. The confounding "why would they design it this way" will no longer be a question to answer, because there was no intent. The machine just spat something out and nobody bothered to reevaluate. (1/2)
I solemnly swear that I will never design another indie game protagonist with a big cloak and maybe their little feed sticking out at the bottom
Why cant chiptune be chill why does it always have to be haunted house mega man circus stage type music
Years ago I decided to release all of Arclands assets under a CCBY4.0 licence. Even though the game hasn't released yet and I only uploaded a tiny fraction of the assets, I keep seeing art inspired by it. That's so cool! HOWEVER releasing commercial asset packs inspired by my art is corny as hell
It would have been so easy for Yacht Club Games to add a dodge roll to Minas combat, but they didn't. In turn they created a system that values positioning over reflexes, and I admire that. I love Soulslikes as much as the next person, but (1/2)
Loving Mina so far, but does anybody know when the meta changed to the player getting knocked back themselves when a meele attack hits? A lot of indies are doing it this way nowadays, and it feels so bad to me. To me the knockback communicates that my attack has been blocked in some way 🤷♂️
Oof woke up and the first thing I saw on the youtube front page was an indie game trailer with completely ai generated pixel art. Expecting to see this more and more, sadly :(
theres something so satisfying and neat about isometric interiors #pixelart
It's crazy how many banner images of games in the steam next fest are AI generated
These copy pasta repost chains people have been doing on X are so cringe. Why can't you just talk about your game normally I guarantee that would be more effective
personally im done playing games where you have to choose your progression on a top down map, deciding if you want to fight another battle or mayhaps visit the shop
logo design fucking PEAKED with the wizardry series, nothing ever came close
